Features
What to expect: Moderate prices, a relaxing sense of isolation alongside the ocean, and a convenient location for enjoying the attractions of Kailua-Kona Village attract budget-minded travelers.

Amenity highlights: The long, narrow lawn running the full width of the resort's oceanfront is a restful spot for enjoying the sun, snoozing on lounge chairs in the shade of coconut trees, and using the three built-in, charcoal barbecue grills for casual outdoor meals and dining on adjacent picnic tables.

Insider tip: Although the shoreline in front of the resort is rocky and not suitable for swimming or snorkeling, Kahaluu Beach Park a mile south offers some of the best snorkeling waters in all of Hawaii.

Located just few minutes driving distance fom the central part of the Kona. The main building located right on the beach, but beach itself is rocky. You can still have acces to the water, if swell is low. "Magic sand" beach is one minute driving, almost walking distance.

This was said to be a standard accomadations, but we had an amazing 2 bedroom oceanview room with a fully equipped kitchen, in room washer & dryer, 2 full baths. It was well decorated, very very comfrotable, well kept. We would stay here again in a heart beat. The most amazing thing was sitting on the lanai(porch) and watchimg the ocean waves hit the rocks right in front of us. The employees at the hotel did a great job and were so nice and helpful!!!! Also, the pool and the hot tub were very nice as well.

the hotel has nice ocean view and easy access to any where. however, the transportation is very limited around hotel area and no plaza or food court around the area (the best idea is to get a rental car at airport for easy access and cheaper). the employees has very limited knowledge and skills to help the visitor of transportation and dinning informations. the housekeeping schedule shall be improved for longer stay. to clean the whole room at the 4th day is not enough to mimize the insects. the kitchen area and bathroom toilet shall be up grade.

the best room on the mountain side is #332, it has an awesome view of the ocean and surfers. Rooms are small, but cozy and have everything you need to make all your food...money saver...

Well saying this condo complex is a 2 1/2 is a streach.... From the people who run this place that could care less if your happy or not, to the no help with luggage, to dirty rooms, only clean towels daily. I asked if I could have my room vacumed....and was told only after the 4th day!!! The bedroom window faced the street which was 10 feet away....we could not sleep there because of the car noise all night. The sleeper sofa in the living room was...well not comfortable at all to say the least!!! The garbage truck was are alarm clock on a daily basis at 4:30am....

Budget acommodations, yes, but also your doorway to a picture-perfect ocean view. Our original reservations were for mountain view, but when we saw the ocean view, we had to upgrade. Our rooms were very adequate. We had plenty of room. We also had a few unexpected guests in the form of insects. I suppose a tropical climate predisposes their presence. All in all, we had a great stay at the Bali Kai.

Very nice. Only one concern, the one bedroom we stayed in, if you closed the bedroom door it was quite hot. We were three persons so to stay cool we had to keep the sliding door open as a result no privacy in the main bedroom due to the heat when the door was closed. Other than this concern all was well.

Not impressed with ocean view rooms must request ocean side. Request top floor rooms to avoid noisy neighbors overhead.
