| Artistic minimalism in a trendsetting neighborhood A mecca for film notables, entrepreneurs, and top restaurants, TriBeCa is located near Wall Street and the excitement of SoHo and Greenwich Village. Guestrooms are decorated in subtle beiges, tans, and blues, and have platform beds, sleek desks, ergonomic chairs, flat-screen TVs, and high-speed Internet access. The Church Lounge, a 10,000-square-foot conversation/bar/dining space beneath an 8-story atrium, occupies the entire ground floor of the hotel. Guests also enjoy a fitness room and business center.

Features
What to expect: Since its opening in 2000, the Tribeca Grand has not only attracted movie types and visitors who want to explore the trendy neighborhood but has become a social center for area residents. All can be seen at the Church Lounge, a unique space with translucent columns of light soaring to a skylight, and one wall illuminated by the glow of 80 candles refracting through glass lenses. Amenity highlights: Guestrooms provide a calm counterpoint to the lobby’s excitement. They blend minimalist furnishings and quiet colors with comforts such as Egyptian-cotton towels and "We Live Like This" toiletries from the UK. Daily copies of the The New York Times are complimentary. Insider tip: The hotel’s 98-seat Grand Screen Room is rented for many movie premieres and often attracts their stars. Apparently the hotel also attracts filmmakers—the Tribeca Grand was featured in Two Weeks Notice as the home of one of the pivotal characters, George Wade, who was played by actor Hugh Grant.
Church Lounge - Furnished with a mix of comfortable sofas, lounge chairs, and café-style tables and chairs, the lounge offers continuous beverage service and dining ranging from cheeses and hors d’oeuvres to burgers and pastas to full meals.

| The Tribeca Grand had one of the most uncomfortable beds we'd ever slept on (where's the blankets?). The room's decor is cold and modern. The bathroom's steel countertop, sink, and cabinet reminded me of a large version of an airplane lavatory. The room was also very small. Unless your main destination is within walking distance, I'd stay elsewhere.

| The hotel itself is cool. Unfortunately, we had a room on the 2nd floor and there was head banging music going on into the wee hours that was extremely annoying. If you go, request a room on an upper floor.

| Easy walking distance from SoHo, Chinatown, Little Italy, the financial center (and the west village stretching it a bit). Subway entrances close too and the buttons personnel will catch you a cab in no time. Inside a well decorated hotel with a concierge staff that gave us great eating out suggestions as well as great seats to shows if you didn't make previous arrangements. Room is cozy (NYC size) and well distributed. The view limited by other buildings but streets are wide and in a triangle so you still have some viewing angle. Comfortable bed and bathroom. A detail we liked was the 'white noise' volume button to cancel out exterior sounds -works better than you would think. Ask for a goldfish bowl to keep in your room but please don't let it die, our neighbor let his dead goldfish-in-a-bowl outside his door like a used room-service tray. Bar downstairs is good to get warmed up before going out. Recommended and would stay again. Sundays are good for kids with shows downstairs. Remember this is the heart hotel of the TriBeCa film festival where screenings to movies are shown and where some stars stay to see them.

| From the moment we were escorted into the door, things were fab. Champagne cocktails and cool towels to refresh ourselves from the heat outside. Bags brought to room with no confusion. Room had great view, very comfortable bed and pillows, great CD selection (compliments of hotel) along with a system that helps diminish noise from the streets. Great, Great, Great!!!

| Beautiful looking hotel with lots of character. Felt really comfortable place to be in despite very trendy appearance. Bar was a little too lively and noisy on the weekend nights so I would ask for a higher floor in future. Staff great on the whole, though minority of bar staff a little stand-offish. King room perfect for work, but not much storage for longer leisure stay.

| While not my favorite Manhattan hotel, the Tribeca never fails to deliver. The staff is exceptionally friendly and service is stellar. The rooms appear to be remodeled and the Olevia flat screen TV's are a nice touch. Proximity to Soho shopping and restaurants is a bonus for me.
