| Friendly bi-lingual staff, good service, great breakfast every day, the coffee was excellent. Very good value and probably one of the best hotels in Costa Rica. Overall rating compared to other hotels I have stayed in 3 1/2 stars.

| I'd call this hotel a mixed bag. On one hand, the concierges were more courteous and helpful than I could have expected. The breakfasts are far above the usual expectations of hotel "free breakfast." In fact, they were our main reason to get out of bed each morning! I made peace with the fact that there was no pool, and I wasn't looking for one either (I live in Miami). The main problem was when we tried to use the jacuzzi--first off, it took half an hour to get hotels from the front desk, and after all that ordeal, it took even more time to get someone to bring an ashtray and drinks. Plus, it wasn't even working when we got in, so I was sitting in a tub of lukewarm water smoking a cigar. Also, the gym is so unimpressive that they may as well not even have one. There are no free weights, and the machine broke when I tried to use it. This and the jacuzzi is why I gave the hotel a 2 for maintenance. Anyway, this is NOT a resort hotel, but it's a terrific place to stay if you want a comfortable bed and a good breakfast while you're out exploring the beauty that Costa Rica offers. Even though I wrote those bad stories, I do recommend this hotel, and my overall opinion of it is positive.

| The staff was more then helpful and extremly pleasant, the room was very comfortable. I also liked the location because Icould walk through the adjacent park. I would not hesitate recommending Palma Real most highly.

| I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a hotel near San Jose. The service was excellent and the room was clean & comfortable. We stayed there one night before embarking on our vacation destination. It was a good transition from the states to Costa Rica.

| I stayed at this hotel recently, and received a very good service. The hotel is near from the airport, 5 minutes to San Jose Downtown, and 10 minutes to Escazu. It is located in a nice area. Very good service!.

| The highly hospitipal nature of the staff was wonderful. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The location of the hotel allowed easy acess to parks, restaurants, and downtown San Jose. We will definitely return to Hotel Barcelo Palma Real.
