| The Grand Geiser is a beautifully restored hotel that is very service oriented & has a world class restaurant in it. They provide bathrobes, free DVDS & player, (with deposit), have a library, etc. The rooms have 12' ceilings & are beautiful. The only thing that was wrong unfortunately turned out to be a major problem, though. Their HVAC system is powered by hot water & can be extremely noisy. When we first heard the sound of running water (very loud) in our room we assumed that it was coming from the kitchen/restuarant operation & would subside by 11 pm or so. When the nose proceeded to get louder around midnight & we called the front desk, they advised that it was an HVAC problem that occurs when switching from heating to air-conditioning & that it only occurs it some of the rooms. They said someone else had also complained of the noise that night. They offered to give us another room but since it was already so late, we declined. They then said we should just think of the noise as ambience. If you can get a room without the noise, it is a magnificent place to stay & eat!!!!
