    Features
What to expect: Spread over five hectares (13 acres) of landscaped grounds containing ponds, fountains, gently flowing artificial rivers spanned by white bridges, and white benches beside winding paths, this resort offers adults a tranquil haven (guests must be 13 years or older). Guestrooms are located in 11 yellow, English Colonial-style villas graced with decorative white balconies. Amenity highlights: An infinity pool on the beach offers a spot for relaxation while next to it, an activities pool (with nearby hot-water spa tub) allows for volleyball and other games. Three more "relaxation pools" in secluded locations have sundecks and are paired with cool-water spa tubs. Plus the health-and-beauty spa offers a relaxation pool open to all guests without charge. Beside the Caribbean's turquoise water and along the powdery, white sand are palm trees and canopies over sun loungers large enough for two. Attendants regularly pass chilled towels around the main relaxation pool and later in the afternoon, they serve fruit to guests.

Insider tip: A favorite destination of honeymooners and romantic couples, the hotel has adopted its own official song, "Love Is in the Air," to which staff members dance poolside every afternoon and evening.

This hotel is wonderful - the service is outstanding and it is very clean and comfortable. It is a very quiet resort, if you like a lot of happening night life this is not the place for you. The food is also very eclectic, if you are not one for trying new things while dining this also would not be for you. Other than that it is wonderful! I would definitely go back.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, relaxation and great service and food, this is the place! After considering the many options for a honeymoon in this region, we chose the Royal Hideaway. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived to the sad time of departure, we were pampered. We enjoyed the gorgeously landscaped grounds, the immaculate condition of the buildings, the peace and quiet, and the outstanding food. The staff was always eager to help and very friendly. We enjoyed a couple of outside excursions (Xel-ha/Tulum)but were most content just staying at the hotel. It would be difficult to top our experience here!

From the minute you enter the gates of the resort, you are treated like you are the guest of honor. The resort was smaller than some others that I have been to but the service was impecible and the restaurants were five-star. I took my mother for a mother's day adventure and even though this resort is touted as a couples, "love is in the air" resort, there were plenty of things for singles to do and plenty of "non-couples" at the resort. If you want a cabana or a seat by the pool, stake it out early (before breakfast) or you will be relegated to the beach (still not a bad place to spend the day)! The ocean side massage was WONDERFUL!! I can't wait to go back!

We were here for the first two days of our honeymoon and really loved it, especially right after the hectic-ness of planning our wedding. It is worth the splurge for a few nights of pure luxury--the grounds are beautiful, the staff attentive, the beach amazing, and the food terrific. We treated ourself to the highly romantic dinner on the beach package, which was highlight--I definitely recommend it for romantic travelers. One caveat, this is not the place to be if you are interested in seeing anything of Mexican culture. Even the dishes in the "Mexican" restaurant seem to be quite gringified (though tasty!). We solved this problem by spending a few days here and then venturing southward to spend a few nights in Tulum and another night at Chichen Itza.

The hotel was great. Beautiful, well maintained, nicely situated. The best part is the staff - everyone was great. From the bellhop, to the concierge, the waiters, everyone. The place is definitely luxurious, but without feeling stuffy. Everyone makes it very clear that they are there to make sure you have the most relaxing stay you can imagine. My only complaint would be the quality of the beds. At this price point, and given the overall quality of the hotel, the mattresses were not very comfortable. It turned out OK, though - we just got up earlier and went to nap on the beach or by the pool!

An excellent hotel for couples to have a romantic time away together - every day was perfect with time around the pool, sailing , snorkeling, walking on the beach, eating in the excellent restaurants. The place was immavulate and easily the best hotel in the Riviera Maya. Not a place for kids, singles or couple who get tired of each other's company.

Just got back yesterday, and I can't wait to book our next stay! The hotel was just beautiful, and the service was amazing. Our concierge was very helpful, provided us with a lot of information, and answered all of our questions. The relaxation pools were just that...and nice to be at since most visitors go to the beach and pools near the snack bar. We stayed at the pool nearest our room for almost 5 hours one day and we were the only ones there the whole time!! Food was great, at all the restaurants we tried, and the breakfast buffet sitting out on the terrace was such a great way to start the day.

An overall good place to get away to. We had a few problems with the airconditioning in the room but it was corrected. We also had a few problems with the quality of the food. A couple of meals were brought out only warm. Again quickly corrected. We really appreciated the security and service. Naturally the weather was great and the pools and beach are wonderful.
