Features
What to expect: No signs mark this discreet, 12-story hotel, but guests who pull into the tree-shaded driveway are greeted by a staff that is suited up like the hotel’s well-heeled guests. The ultra-bold, post-modern, eclectic interior bedazzles newcomers with the stage-set lobby and glowing glass walls with visual projections. Celebrities and entertainment industry executives are frequent guests here. Amenity highlights: The Mondrian was designed so that the indoor and outdoor spaces blend seamlessly. Most of the spaces converge on the swimming pool and sundeck area, where the sophisticated Asia de Cuba restaurant opens onto one side, and the Hollywood-hip Skybar is poised at the other. Between the two is a terraced and landscaped deck, which—come evening—is transformed into an outdoor living room, with candlelight and oversized futons for lounging. Insider tip: This fascinating property is aglow with subtle optical illusions and special lighting effects. Guests may find themselves watching a hypnotic blue screen in one of the corridors, waiting for a TV image or a fish to float by (take a closer look!). A lobby wall may change color each time a guest walks by. Even the guestrooms have messages subtly embedded in the walls (hints: “dream” near the bed; “together” by the dining table).
Asia de Cuba - Asian-Cuban fusion cuisine is the specialty served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This upscale, lobby-level restaurant and an elegant indoor dining room, and a popular outdoor “alley” featuring lush landscaping and flowering vines in gargantuan terra-cotta pots. Seabar - Guests enjoy sushi, flavored sakes, ceviche (raw fish marinated in lime or lemon juice with olive oil and spices), and other “sea fare” for dinner only, at this long, family style table at one side of the sleek lobby. Skybar - Hotel guests are granted entry into this exclusive, ivy-covered wooden bar, with city views, above the pool area. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available here.

| An extremely pricey hotel in hollywood that offers a great social expereince but the rooms fall very short of expectations. Cheap furnishings, uncofortable beds, and tacky bathroom amenitites. We will find other botique hotels in Hollywood in the future.

| We often stay in Beverly Hills 4 star hotels and this was the most disappointing hotel stay. If you are looking for elegance or luxury... this is Not the place to be. We supposedly were upgraded to a studio suite and a balcony suite. Our rooms were below average & very dated with popcorn ceilings, dated bathrooms, old TV's ... Even the door to the bathroom was all scratched up. The couches in both our rooms were very cheap looking and the pull out couch was broken in one. The mattress on our king-size bed was uncomfortably hard and on the thin side. When in bed you could literally hear the water in the pipes from the walls/ceilings, people outside, and in other nearby rooms. I honestly can't believe this hotel can get these prices as it is definitely not worth the $$$$ they charge. If you want a scene with attitude and are fine with cheap feeling accomodations then you will like this.

| Definitely a cool place to stay mostly due to the Sky Bay. The hotel itself is starting to show a little wear and tear. For the price, it might be time for a makeover. I found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. Although it's starting to show it's age, Great location in close proximity to most the West Hollywood nightlife, restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay at the Mondrian again.

| If you are 25 and a size "0" you'll love this hotel. If you are a guy looking for a wanna-be model/actress you'll find her here. Lots of hotties too. However, you have to be in the mood for this type of scene. We stayed for 3 days. One of the elevator lights were not working. So, they put in glow sticks instead. It felt more like the Tower of Terror or waking up with a hang over due to the rave music blasting in the elevator. The pool looked ok from a distance. But it was mostly models at poolside. I felt extremely intimidated in my size 8- had 2 babies "body". However, the location was excellent- right on Sunset Strip- short driving distances to West Hollywood shopping and tourist attractions.

| Booked a suite, but decided to change to a room with a balcony (make sure to request this!). The front desk propmptly moved us to a room on the 11 floor with a great view of the city. Overall, excellent customer service from everyone at this hotel.

| I stayed at one of the "suites" on a Saturday night. The suites at the Mondrian are like little apartments furnished "Ikea" style, which is both good an bad. The good: They are perhaps more "homey" than typical hotel rooms, and good for an extended stay. The bad: the apartment-like feel of the room didn't satisfy my desire for a truly elegant hotel experience. The main thing I was disatified with was the bathroom. The bathroom is just like what you would find in a small apartment - cramped with a small, shallow tub (OK, it had a marble floor, which hadn't been cleaned thoroughly by the way). The hotel is very trendy and is home to a "hot" nightclub and restaurant. I didn't try the restaurant, but my date and I dropped by the nightclub for a drink; It was quite an LA scene. After we went back to our room, we could hear the revelry from the nightclub through our closed windows (and yes it is open till 2am on the weekend). Overall I recommend the Mondrian. But stay away if you are looking to avoid a trendy LA scene, or you want true hotel elegance, or a large bath, or a quiet night of sleep on the weekend.

| It's lovely. Okay, the plumbing is of a Bay City Rollers vintage, though possibly could be taken as "retro", but the rooms are comfy, larger than your average Ian Schrager hotel, and decorated in a self-consciously Zen way that makes them seem like an LA in-joke. The lobby, the Sky Bar and restaurant Asia de Cuba are quite authentically marvelous; add the proximity to the House of Blues and you have the makings of an enjoyable evening without ever pulling your rental Jag out of the valet.

| You stay here to sit by the Skybar and people watch. The views of all of LA from our 7th floor room were spectacular also. This hotel was an not-so-spectacular apartment building now creatively turned into a first-rate, memorable hotel experience.
