Features
What to expect: A narrow side road off the Transpeninsular Highway leads to this series of secluded, white buildings on the cliffs. The open-air lobby affords views of the ocean. Pathways wind through tropical and desert landscaping to the guestrooms.
Amenity highlights: Terraced wooden decks leading down the hillside feature three geometric pools of deep-blue tile. The adult pool has a swim-up bar, the activities pool features daily games and contests, and the third pool is for children. Farther down the hillside are three spa tubs, each on its own deck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. A semi-private beach is protected by rock formations that break the thunderous waves, creating a shallow lagoon area safe for swimming.
Insider tip: The Calinda is one of the few resorts with direct views of Cabo’s famous El Arco rock formation. The best place to see it is from the bottommost spa tub at sunset.

| Beautiful views! Great service!!! Semi-private beach!! Food OK. We spent 3 days at this lovely resort and the only concern would be if staying longer the food could get boring however when talking to a traveller that spent 3 times as much at another property they had the same experience. Expect buffet style food with south mexico cuisine that borders on spicy. Anytime my wife didn't like what was provided they made a great burger, fry's, and nachos for her. Based on the reviews I was expecting a budget motel and was very surprised to find the property clean and very nice. Not much of a late night party atmosphere however cabo is a 5 minute drive away. Did I mention you can see the arch from some rooms and the pools! I will be back very soon since this is only a 2-1/2 hour flight from Vegas and cheaper than going to Catalina for the weekend. Rental car made this location a no brainer. 45 minute drive from the airport, 5 minutes from Cabo. $125us for 3 days with total coverage allowed us to travel whenever we pleased and the $35x3people for the shuttle would have been almost as much just to get there.

| The buffet style food is very tiresome and lacks creativity. The website says there are three restaurants at this hotel; there is only one. The alcohol is very cheap and is watered down. Higher end alcohol is VERY expensive. The bed was very uncomfortable and by the fourth night, I found myself sleeping in a chair. Not all bad...this hotel offers amazing views.

| Our room was very good for that rank of hotels. Food was good, though not a big variety has been offered. They have a piece of nice sea/ocean swimming beach that my family injoyed the most. Service is not excelent, if not less, but good weather and warm acean water is worth trying. I would recommend for people who want real leisure vacation for less money. No any entertainment in hotel was offered. So, maybe boring for some people.

| Though the setting was lovely and the room was large, there were too many flaws for me to recommend this hotel. The food was pretty bad, and lacked variety. We had ants (two kinds!) and bed bugs in our room. Mini-bar service (supposedly included) was sporadic. Cab rides into town were expensive (never saw the alleged shuttle.) I'm normally not a complainer, but I was very disappointed in this hotel and would not recommend it to anybody.

| The staff was great. The rooms were so comfortable and so cute. Even without an "ocean view" room, our view was great: the garden, pool, and some ocean!!!

| Staff is friendly, but language can be a problem. Even though I showed my confirmed "all inclusive" Expedia print out, the desk noted the room as booked Standard-European Plan and would not accept the all inclusive catagory I paid for. It took a lengthy phone call to the Expedia Rep before things got straightened out

| We chose it because it was all inclusive. During the slow times, September and October the cooks will cater to you more than the busy times. It is quite. Make sure to take the bus, as the taxi can be expensive at $15.oo a pop. Villa Serina is a great lobster place within walking distance. Not fancy but comfortable and clean. Not as bi-lingual as I would like but they try and are polite. We felt very welcome, and had money left over to enjoy dinners out in downtown if we wanted. The Shrip Factory is good as well as close.Nice private beach, great entertainment Thurs and Sun nightes. Going again in April. Enjoy!! Great value for the money.

| All I have to say is that if you want luxury, good food, and good company....stay at a 4-5 star hotel, not a 2 1/2 star hotel. The service was not nearly what it should have been and unless you have a car, you will go broke going back and forth to Downtown Cabo. Overall, I would have preferred to stay elsewhere.

| My girlfriend and I were so excited to find such a great deal. However despite the good deal, we were extrememely disappointed after our stay at Calinda. To start things off, we were never greated upon arrival and had to ask for our bags to be carried to the room. The beds were rock hard and the room was not very clean. The mini bar was stocked with some half-empty drinks! Even more, the icebox had about an inch of mold in it, and it stunk up the room quite a bit. We tried to ignore the problems, and the first couple of days were slightly enjoyable. The food was very bland, not awful, but not satisfying either. The service was so bad that our drinks would come AFTER we had finished our meal. The meals were also very repetitive, and the drinks were nothing to brag about also. The staff was very unhelpful and often unhappy. We received more help from the tour/excursion reservation employees than from the hotel staff itself. The day we left, the hotel gave an airport shuttle driver our wrong flight time, and we would have missed our flight if it wasn't for an hour delay at the airport (the plane had to be repaired). So if you want bad service, as the natives are treated better, stay here. Otherwise, go somewhere else. The views were spectacular and the hotel was decent, but putting your money here is a waste of time.

| Not a Hotel for someone looking for an American 5 star Hotel. The Calinda caters to upper class Mexican National & many staff members don't speak English very well. The view is to die for & the food is very authentic (Not how American view Mexican food.) We were there for the Wed. Fiesta night. Disappointed we could not be there for Sat. nights party. The food is served buffet style & waiters bring you your drinks. At the pool you come & get your own drinks from the bar. Limited to Tacate (beer)& a few blended & mixed drinks they only have "well booze" available. In the afternoon there is cheese nachos & hamburgers & fries at the pool. Bring your own beach towel. Tip the staff after each drink at the pool and at meals to get better service. This is not included in your all inclusive package. Relax have fun Your in Mexico!
