The hotel is very nice - beautiful grounds, nice rooms. Wireless internet worked perfectly, very nice fitness center, excellent full breakfast buffet included (not what you usually get with "included" breakfast - omelet station and everything). Only drawback is that the place is really set up as a conference center, so the services and food options for individuals are limited. The breakfast is great, but then there's no way to get anything to eat for the rest of the day until 5pm - not even a bottle of water. Otherwise very nice place and great value for the money when you consider that the extensive breakfast and high speed wireless internet are included in the standard room rate.

The only drawback is that there are stairs every where. Going from room to breakfast, for exaample, required walking up and down several staircases and paths. While we had excellent weather, we did wonder how this was handled during winter months. The hotel is tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and cared for and the staff was very gracious and welcoming. The wait to check in was long even though only two people were ahead of us in line.

Great location for the northern suburbs of the NY metropolitan area. Superb grounds and views.Friendly and helpful staff. Unusual layout in a campus sort of environment. Be prepared for some walking and stair climbing. It's on my list of preferred stops.

Pretty neat hotel. Great location and beutiful grounds. Had some trouble with the hotel overbooking - part of our party had to sleep on a cot for one night. Eventually the management moved us to another room when they were reminded. Otherwise no problem.

My wife and I stayed here during a trip to NYC. We wanted to stay somewhere in the Hudson Valley because several people mentioned how beautiful the area was. The area is definitely beautiful and convenient to NYC (the hotel is located about 25 miles north of Midtown Manhattan). The hotel is located on a 26 acre historic estate, and is right across the street from Washington Irving's house (Irving was the author of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow). The hotel is also convenient to old town Tarrytown and the Village of Sleepy Hollow. Great Place, Great Experience.

tarrytown house has plenty of amenities - indoor/outdoor pools, bowling alley, racquet ball court - which are great if you're staying there long enough to enjoy them. the room was nice and clean, but the carpets were looking a little shabby. Because the land is on a slope, our room was on the first floor and check-in is on the 5th. but there are no elevators, so we had to carry our luggage down the four flights of stairs. overall a decent place to stay, but the outside of the place is more impressive than the inside.

My wife and I booked this hotel as a way to get out of New York City for a few nights on our honeymoon. The grounds house buildings that reflect the more traditional Hudson Valley feel and also a building that is very comfortable, but a bit more "big hotel chain" in atmosphere. The grounds were in walking distance of two of Tarrytowns biggest sites, the Washington Irving house and the Lyndhurst Manison, though if you walk, you will have to walk down, then back up a very steep hill. Overall, this was a nice hotel but nothing spectacular.
