What to expect: Opened in 1983 and located 4 blocks from the heart of bustling Coconut Grove and 6 miles from downtown Miami, this hotel attracts both business travelers and vacationers. The hotel is busier on weekends than during the week, when it fills up with vacationers eager to enjoy Coconut Grove's nightlife and shopping. As in many of Miami's hotels, guests are an international mix. Amenity highlights: The hotel has a courtyard pool, a fitness center, a sauna, a busy restaurant, and a bar that has a nightly happy hour. Extensive terraces overlooking Biscayne Bay are often used for corporate events. The hotel also has several choices of meeting and convention rooms. Insider tip: The hotel is located a half-mile from CocoWalk, an indoor-outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment center in the heart of Coconut Grove. Built around an open courtyard full of vendors' carts, it has outdoor cafés, a multiplex, street entertainers, stores, and restaurants, and is lively well into the night.
BICE Restaurant - Serves three meals a day and offers guests a choice of indoor or terrace seating. The cuisine is Northern Italian. A private dining/wine room off the restaurant is a good choice for working meals. The Sunday brunch is well-known in the community. | great price! great location! beautiful hotel! Too bad my floor had no sheets on bed, bathroom was dirty...and I was in line the next day to view my concerns with about 6 other people..hotel did give us free parking and breakfast

| `while the location of the hotel was excellent, other elements left a lot to be desired. 1) on arrival, no bellmen were available at the entrance to help with luggage; 2) the room was musty and wet smelling as if it had been flooded; 3) phone did not function properly, room service, front desk, and other connections wouldn't respond, and voice messages didn't help to resolve problems; 4) request for a deodorant spray to eliminate room odor and musty smell was ignored; and, 5) never got a response to a request for a room change.

| Unless you're staying on the top floors (8+), I would not bother. The common areas of the hotel are well maintained but a friend of mind who stayed on the fifth floor found bed bugs in her room and got bitten so bad that she had to go to the hospital.

| We enjoyed our Grand Bay experience so much. The room was elegant with a cozy balcony overlooking the bay. The common areas were inviting and easy-going. This is a wonderful area. I look forward to a return visit.

| I did not like the fact I was in a non smoking floor but next to me in a room connected to mines there was a heavy smoker. I had to move rooms because of that.
