The three-story, 120-unit resort and spa is a smoke-free property that features an elegant restaurant and bar, full-service spa with sauna and steam rooms, two lighted tennis courts, indoor and outdoor fitness rooms (including sauna and steam rooms), two outdoor pools, a spa, and adjacent boutiques. Valet parking:

Recreation
L’Auberge Resort and Spa is 1 block from Del Mar beach, less than 4 miles from Torrey Pines Golf Course and Torrey Pines Nature Reserve, 5 miles from Torrey Pines Gliderport, and 15 miles from Mission Bay Park, affording numerous recreational opportunities. Hot air balloon rides operate year-round, depending on weather, from Del Mar, departing at dawn and dusk. Bicycle and jogging paths run adjacent to the resort, through the village, and along a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: Sheltered from the street by shops and clever landscaping, this resort blends gracefully into its postcard-perfect setting. The glass-covered entry leads to a regal, skylighted lobby with marble floors, leather armchairs, plush sofas, a fireplace, and a wall of French doors and windows. The resort-casual ambience appeals to a leisure and corporate travelers, honeymooners, and locals on weekend getaways. Amenity highlights: This resort features manicured lawns, tropical plants, foot bridges, creeks, waterfalls, and nooks where guests can drink or dine; two outdoor pools (including a lap pool); two fitness rooms (one outdoors); two championship tennis courts; a spa that offers massage, facials, and other treatments; a clubby bar; and a restaurant that serves diners in a light-filled room set with white linens, or alfresco beside a waterfall. The resort is across the street from fine shops and dining. Insider tip: In addition to the swimming pool and spa in the resort’s beautifully terraced and landscaped courtyard, an additional lap pool and outdoor fitness center is available, accessible only via a pathway between the tennis courts. This fitness center, with a rooftop covering, allows guests to work out while enjoying white-water views and salty sea air.
J. Taylor’s: A unique blend of American, Mexican, and Mediterranean cuisine is served for all meals in the fashionable dining room set with white linens and cobalt blue glasses, or on the landscaped terrace with rock waterfall. The Durante Pub: Cocktails, beer, and wine are served in this clubby, dark-wood-paneled bar situated between the lobby and restaurant.

| This Hotel was a block away from the beach. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Service was great and provided everthing you need to go to the beach. What a beautiful place with a great view.

| We stayed here about 10 years ago and thought we would return. The first room we had was noisy from the pipes..the management could not have been nicer..they changed our room to a nicer room without asking them too..the staff was so kind!!! Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make our staff pleasant..

| If you like the beach, this is a great place to stay. You are steps from a great beach with lots of activity. The rooms are small, and the two double beds were really small for 2 adults and two teenagers. Our only complaint. Great restaurants in every direction. Try Osteria del Pescatore for great Italian. Looking forward to going back.

| The location of this hotel in Del Mar is great. Only 1 block from the beach and right in the middle of the bustling Del Mar city action. Great restaurants in all directions within walking distance. The front desk and concierge were more than friendly and very professional as well as accomodating. I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to stay right in San Diego, but want to be close with only a fifteen minute drive.

| I really enjoyed this hotel, lobby, resturant, room very clean, nice decor. I also loved the fact that every room has a patio or balcony. I wouldnt recommend the 1st floor because if you have a heavy walker above you it sounds like a hippo stampede.

| this was a nice place in del mar. completely low key with very good service..pool was small and seemed to allow others to come in that were not staying there. if you want a beachy, feel but good quality, stay here. its a quiet 4 star hotel. helpful concierge and staff.

| Loved this hotel! Beautiful place, very serene and great location! The staff was wonderful..very pleasant and helpful. Have already told friends..if they go to CA..stay in Del Mar at the L'Auberge...would stay here again!

| The main body of the hotel was nice, and the pool and patio area had a great view. The weather was not great, so I did not get to utilize what seemed to be the nicest part of L'Auberge. The hotel was conveniently located so you could walk to all the Del Mar shops and the beach. As far as comfort is concerned, I was surprised the hotel is rated as highly as it is. The room was small and the pillows left much to be desired. I would not go back if I had 3-4 people - the beds were double instead of queen. Would probably try it again in a king room, though.
