| At first we were impressed by the location and the views from the hotel. First when we went in there were no luggage carriers and we had alot of luggage. But no one seemed to care. The front desk ladies were very helpful but on the second morning there we were very rudly told by one of the janitors not to spill our coffee in the elevator. About the way somone would tell a child.

| This hotel looks like a mental institution or prison from the outside. Be prepared to haul your bags up 3 stories of parking lot stairs to get to the lobby. The room and most of the hotel smelled pretty rank. Stains all over the carpet. No knob to control the fan in the bathroom. I called the desk for a wakeup call... the next morning they never called. Access to the pool area is through the laundry room, a series of nasty stairwells. Not a great pool area either. Needless to say, I wont be back.

| Not impressive looking from the outside. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and eager to help with anything you need or want. The breakfast was basic but very good.

| The entrance of the hotel is stunning! The patio overlooking downtown is also beautiful. My room was adequate for the price. The breakfast was not what I expected....I didn't even see any milk. The elevator and hallways showed wear and tear. I did use the laundry facilities. It was quiet but a little out of the way. Just one exit down there is a Wal-Mart and a mall and several restaurants. I believe it was once a very nice hotel but has experienced wear and tear over the years. Adequate for the price.

| Date of visit: 9/27/05 When I arrove, I called my business associate and informed him where I was. he said "You better be careful if you go out at night". It was not in the best neighborhood. The hotel was a bit "dated". The room was very spacious, although the bathroom was a bit small. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was pretty good, as it was more than your standard continental breakfast (not a menu breakfast). It had eggs, bacon and sausage. The breakfast staff needed to drink some more coffee. Over, it was ok. I would return if I needed a bed. But if I was looking for something a bit more special, I would look elsewhere.

| My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon(Nascar race weekend.) The staff is very friendly.Unfortunately, if you are looking for the "little extras" as we were, you won't find them here. Somehow, we ended up with a room with two double beds on our honeymoon! The continental breakfast is amazing--so much food.Amazing view. Not much of a fitness room. Knowing ahead of time that the "little things" are missing,I think would have made it a more pleasurable experience, but we would stay there again.Perfect for a little weekend getaway. Not so great for week long stay. The staff was so wonderful.

| Was very suprised how nice this hotel was. I did not expect for the price to have such a great view of the downtown area etc. I would stay here again without hesitation.

| The steep roadway up to the hotel is worth it for the beautiful sight of Birmingham's night lights. Service is cordial and rooms are comfortable.
