I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff was very courteous. The location is great, right on the lake and in the center of everything. Simple but tasty and filling continental breakfast. Next time I would like to stay in one of the cabins...you can't beat this place for the price, location and convenience.

Plus: Overall a nice place to rest your head after a day full of outdoor activities. The lakeview rooms are not truly facing the lake, more of a sideways view since the "motel" like building is perpendicular to the waters edge. Can fish from a well lit dock on the property. Room had ceiling fan. Allows pet with additional fee. Lots of local geocaches to find. Minus: Spa pool was foaming badly--needed to be cleaned. Nickel & dime charges for self-serve ice, firewood $ and threat of $$ charge if you fail to return a borrowed beach towel for the pool. No air conditioning. Dated decor; room initially smelled like wet dog. Suggest: Bring your own firewood, pay for ice as you need it and be prepared to febreze your room.

We were very surprised to find such a lovely place at such a value. Right by the lake and downtown, but with enough trees you felt "away" from it. Received an upgrade at check in and had a very lovely 1 bdr cabin with jacuzzi tub. Very clean and nicely decorated. Quite a few activities on sight- movies for checkout, ping pong table, pool table, pool and jacuzzi. Wont stay anywhere else in Big Bear ever again!

The room we stayed in was a few steps from the lake. We had a great view and use of a nice wood deck. The room itself was a little tacky, but having the convenience of a fridge and microwave along with the view of the lake more than made up for the decorations. The staff is awesome. I would definitely stay again.

Here is a rustic retreat right on the lake, yet seconds from The Village in downtown Big Bear. The rooms are clean and modern, yet the furniture looks like something out of The Flintstones. Even the moldings look like they just came off the tree. The staff consisted of two young girls at the front desk who couldn't care if we were there or not, but the stay was a very good one all in all.

Stayed in the motel portion of the hotel. Room on second floor with view of lake was clean and functional. Since the night was chilly, we lit a log in the fireplace. Pool and jacuzzi were the highlight. The pool was heated to 88 degrees, the jacuzzi even warmer. Even on a cool night both were delightful. Hotel is walking distance to the village with many shops and restaurants. Internet was available in lounge area, but was very slow. Continental breakfast was good. Staff vey friendly.

We chose a higher priced room because it had an in-room jacuzzi and fireplace. The jacuzzi didn't work the first (and costlier) night and the second night it was repaired but the water heater didn't have enough hot water to fill it up. It was most disappointing. The overall quality of the room was extremely disappointing considering the expense. Also they seemed more interested in whether or not we were going to steal their towels than making us feel welcome as guests. There were signs all over telling us they would charge us for leaving dirty dishes, leaving five minutes after 11:00 am, etc.
