Bluebeards Castle Amenities
Standing on a hilltop overlooking the sparkling blue harbor and the town of Charlotte Amalie, Bluebeard’s Castle Hotel offers spectacular vistas. Legend has it—and some romantics still insist—that the stone tower on the hotel’s grounds was built by the pirate Bluebeard for his one true love, Mercedita. Actually, the Danish built it as a watchtower in the 1600s to supplement the Fort Christian fortress. Today, the hotel offers a bounty of amenities, including a pool, spa tub, tennis courts, scuba lessons, on-site dining, and more. There's even an Internet lounge with complimentary high-speed access.

Recreation
St Thomas has some of the loveliest white-sand beaches in the Caribbean, and guests can choose from an impressive array of water sports and other activities. In addition to a pool and tennis courts, the hotel offers scuba lessons. Golf, windsurfing, and boat charters are all nearby. And for those whose favorite “sport” is shopping, Charlotte Amalie offers a wealth of duty-free stores. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

| The air conditioning in the room didn't work, so the hotel maintenance came to work on it while we went to dinner. Upon returning and the room was still hot, the front desk would only offer a fan. Overall, the hotel appears slightly aged but the room, restaurant, and piano bar were great. Other than the air conditioning problem I would recommend the hotel.

| Wasn't sure what to expect, but the room turned out to be great, and the staff was helpful. The only thing that was below expectations was the time it took for us to get to the room after check in. Since it was quite a walk down stairs to our location we had to wait, and wait (about 45 minutes) for someone to transport us and our luggage. Restaurant was pricey, but good.

| The place has character and is decent. But, as we had reserved an Expedia discount room, the hotel desk placed us in a room at the lowest level, down 3 floors, with no elevator that we could find. All of the rooms have some view, but ours was of a driveway overlooking a large housing project and the landend of the cruise ship dock. Roumor says that the best rooms are being turned into condos and also are used for special package stays. The restaurants in the "castle," not run by the hotel, were expensive, but good.

| My husband and I recently took a return trip to St. Thomas, VI and stayed at Bluebeards Castle. This trip we chose this hotel because of it's location to town and for it's history. We fell in love with the spectacular view from our suite especially at night. We found the staff to be most helpful. The fine cuisine featured at their resturants were absolutely wonderful. Our stay at Bluebeards will be on our minds for a long time.

| When we arrived to register we were directed to another property miles away from town. No explanation was given. I chose this hotel based on its proximity to my work assignment. I was not happy.

| We had a pretty good time while we stayed. The view from our room was fabulous! Unfortunately, there was no pool until the day we left which was very dissapointing, although they did offer other amenities by providing a shuttle to the Beach club. The Room with a View restaurant was fabulous but expect to pay quite a bit. The service was excellent even though the general maintenance of the rooms and buildings has not been kept up. The road to our hotel was filled with speed bumps and a huge mote that was created by water damage. Fortunately they filled the whole up about midway through our trip. Overall it was an ok experience but would like to come back when things have been improved some because the potential is there for sure.
