Features
What to expect: This six-story hotel occupies a corner position on a historic street lined with imposing stone structures. Constructed in 1880, the building was converted into 30 housekeeping-serviced apartments in 1999. The interior has a modern feel: warmly decorated in yellow and white, with a contemporary reception desk in the lobby. Business and leisure guests enjoy the convenience of fully equipped apartments in a city-center location.
Amenity highlights: The Mens Room offers treatments such as a hot-towel shave; haircuts, facials, and hot stone massages. Therapists also offer treatments for women in the privacy of their own apartments. Guests also have complimentary access to the health club at the Scotsman Hotel.
Insider tip: Queen Street Gardens is one of Edinburgh’s most exclusive parks. Adjacent to the hotel, the mature gardens stretch for three blocks and are surrounded by the city’s classic New Town architecture. Although closed to the general public, the gardens can be accessed by guests staying at these apartments.
Guest lounge - A complimentary breakfast of tea, coffee, muffins, and fruit is served to all guests. The hotel does not have a dinner restaurant on site, but there are several several sandwich bars, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby, offering heartier breakfast/brunches. There are also two supermarkets in close proximity. Nearby restaurants: Vin Café Haldenes The Dome Stac Polly Harvey Nichols Forth Floor Brasserie.

| I spent 5 days there with family in July 06 and enjoyed it very much for the friendliness of the staff, the spacious apartments with a well equiped kitchen, and the proximity to most center town attractions without being noisy. Some rooms have a nice view of the gardens and the Firth of Forth. The only minor problem was that the cleaning staff could have done a slightly better job.

| My wife and I stayed at the end of June 06 and were very pleased. We had a garden level apartment that was well furnished and comfortable (very roomy). The garden in back is lovely and the attached park is perfect for a stroll. We just loved it. The staff members were very helpful. The hotel has coffee service and snacks in the lobby which was nice after a days walk. The rooms are converted apartments so you have lots of space with a kitchen for the times you want to walk to the Sainsbury and eat at home. They even have complimentary laundry facilities and internet service in the lobby. How great is that? The hotel is near everything a visitor would want to see. We would gladly recommend this hotel stay for a couple or a family. Its in a great neighborhood and has everything going for it. We will stay here whenever we are in the city.

| After tiny beds and no room to move in other hotels, this place was wonderful to find. It was just enormous with comfortable beds and a nice big sitting room. It was lovely to have the option to eat in too or to at least stretch out on a couch in the evening. Nicely decorated, friendly staff, and free high speed internet (broadband - you must bring your own computer) - all in the center of Ednburgh, two blocks from Prince's Street and right across from the Portrait Gallery (you can peek in the windows in the evening). And we were even given a free upgrade to an apartment with two bedrooms! I would definitely stay there again. I might even move in...

| Unfortunately, it rained every day during our vacation. Fortunately, staying at the Royal Garden apartments (instead of a traditional hotel) was like coming home at the end of the day. It was charming, spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The location was fantastic-- walking distance to everything. Would stay here again without reservation.

| I spent three nights in a very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment with separate living/dining/kitchenette area. The unit was modern and clean with the exception of a well worn carpet. It had a great audio system, DVD player (movies and CDs available to borrow) and dozens of channels of television. Free access to a guest computer in the lobby as well as a nice outdoor garden was appreciated. The location was very convenient to central Edinburgh, train and bus lines, and was walking distance to good restaurants. The staff were uniformly helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

| I am from Scotland origanally and took a friend to visit Edinburgh for the first time. We got upgraded to a two bedroom suite after booking a one bedroom with twin beds. We were delighted! I have a lot of family still in Edinburgh and the receptionist told us we were welcome to bring anyone to our room for drinks/supper. It was our apt. Location is excellent, staff friendly....we were chuffed squint
