| The Knight Residence is a perfect choice for couples, families & seniors. The one bedroom apartment was spacious, clean & had all the comforts of home. The thin flat-screen TV in the livingroom was a bonus as was the welcome basket with cereal, milk, bread & O.J. There is ample free parking on the premises. The concierge staff is the best that I have ever encountered. They were friendly & helpful beyond what you would expect. We walked to Edinburgh Castle for the tour & the Military Tattoo, to the Grassmarket & the Royal Mile for restaurants & Pubs, to Princes Street for shopping & to Waverley Bridge for the bus tours. We felt completely safe in the area around the Residence.

| I enjoyed the hotel as much as I enjoyed Scotland as a whole! The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The room- or rooms I should say, were lovely, clean, and homey. The washer/dryer, CD and DVD players were a plus! It is very close the Grassmarket which is full of pubs and restaurants. The castle and Royal mile is close too. I would recommend this hotel highly and plan on going back as soon as I can!!

| On a recent two-week family vacation to the UK with my wife, son, and wife's parents, we spent three nights in Edinburgh. I made all accommodation reservations ahead of time and used a combination of hotels, B&B's and apartments. I can truly say that the accommodations at the Knight Residence was the highlight of the trip. We shared a spacious three bedroom apartment with separate kitchen, dining room and family room for less than the cost of two hotel rooms for 5 people. The amenities included a large screen television with DVD/VCR player and separate stereo system, a full kitchen plus washer/dryer combo and even free wireless internet! The staff and especially our concierge, Hugh, was extremely helpful in making the most of our time in Edinburgh. By all means take advantage of this Scotish gem when visiting Edinburgh.

| Fantastic accommodations just off Grassmarket! We couldn't believe how excellent our apartment was and how nice the extra space felt. The food basket was a lovely touch and we took full advantage of the washer/dryer unit to get laundry done. Management is very helpful and keen to make sure you enjoy your stay. Gives you the chance to pretend you live in this beautiful city.

| Nice apartment with kitchen, washer/dryer, fridge, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. I can think of only one minus; there are a few small striptease bars very close to the hotel. These didn't bother me at all, as the area still appears to be good and safe.

| From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding. Then, we saw the apartment and it was much more than we had hoped for. From the clothes washer to the kitchen appliances, everything was top-notch. We had plenty of room to spread out. I immediately started wishing we were staying longer. This was all before we even started to tour the city and all it has to offer. I can't wait to return.

| Traveling in the UK with a 7-year-old always narrows your options, so we were happy to find this place, very central; but we weren't quite sure when we booked it since it isn't a traditional hotel, more a cross between a hotel and a flat. (We usually prefer the latter, but there isn't a wide selection in Edinburgh.) As it turns out, we could not have been happier. Wonderful location, near the Grassmarket, the Castle, and various pubs and restaurants. Our apartment was terrific, with all the features you could want, including a better-than-usual-for-the-UK shower. The staff was incredibly helpful. Yes, there are some strip bars down at the corner (and some sort of Salvation Army lodging), but they really weren't an issue. No noise or bother. The hotel itself is so impeccably maintained and secure that the bars didn't bother us at all. Our only minor quibble is that the car park, off on a little side street behind the hotel, can be awfully difficult to locate when you're driving. We highly recommend the Knight Residence!

| While the immediate neighborhood is nothing special, the Knight Residence is. I could find nothing to complain about during our five night stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is about a 15 minute walk to High Street and the castle area and only a five minute walk to the Grassmarket area. The staff is very helpful and the apartment is stocked with everything you need. The washer and dryer was especially appreciated.

| This apartment hotel is near the base of Castle Terrace leading to the Royal Mile. Convenient to all the city attractions. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. We arrived early. The day manager gave us a recommendation for lunch that was very close by and had our room ready on return. Our room included a supply of cereal, milk and bread that made the mornings simple and fast.

| The Knight Residence was a great value in Edinburgh. We were impressed with the homey atmosphere- felt like home away from home. Others have mentioned the neighborhood but it was fine. The location is good- close to Edinburgh Castle. The staff were helpful and the rooms great. We would definitely go back.
