| the staff is friendly and welcoming. This hotel is close to Johns Hopkins (2-3 blocks), Loyola College (~1.5 mi.) so it's convenient and inexpensive if you are visiting schools. But it is separated from the Inner Harbor area by 2 miles of relatively rundown neighborhood towards town and is about that far from the train station (take a cab!). the view across the street is a large red brick hospital, not particularly attractive.

| This hotel is very old, but well maintained. Nothing fancy, but basic and clean. We had a fourth floor walkup which was not a problem - for us! Beds comfortable, bathroom clean, A/C worked well, and shower pressure quite good. A breakfast buffet was provided -not gourmet, but adequate. The coffee was fine which was all that mattered. Considering the high prices elsewhere, this was a bargain. A private garage was available for $12/night, and we slept better knowing our car was there.

| A great deal for the price. The establishment itself does not look like it is in the best condition, but relative to the rest of baltimore it is immaculate. A nice assorted breakfast is served in the morning and the caring staff gives it a nice bed & breakfast feal.

| Plenty of room, very clean. Friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Convenient garage for private parking (at extra charge, but worth it to us). Two weaknesses: The drapes did not close all the way, and we were on the fourth floor with no elevator. Not a problem for us, but anyone with trouble walking would not want to be up there.

| For starters we picked a bad time to go, there were two major events happening at the time of our stay, I am use to staying in nice hotels in downtown Inner Harbor, but we had to take what we could get....the Inn itself was ok, I would most likely not go back for two reasons, it is to me to far from the Harbor, and the lady that checked us is (who was very friendly, don't get me wrong) gave us very bad advice about leaving our car at the Inn and taking a taxi...HUGE MISTAKE...we spent so much money on cab fair and wasted hours of our time...very disappointing. When we did use our car to go downtown we spent alot of money for parking...if you stay in a hotel downtown you do pay the hotel parking (not as much as the garages)but you can walk to everything, there is no need to move your car for your stay! The inn was clean for the most part, breakfast was supplied, but was not kept up with, they had different items to choose from but they did not resupply them so that everyone could have some if wanted. If you need to stay near the John Hopkins Hospital, then yes I would say that it is a decent place to stay, but if you are going to be at the Harbor and think you will save money by staying a little farther away, you may want to think agian!

| I used to live in Baltimore and wanted to stay in my old neighborhood (Charles Village) while I visited----the location was great, as was the complimentary continental breakfast. The only problem was the bed---it needed a new mattress in a bad way (it wasn't firm at all).

| The hotel was kind of shabby on the outside but was decorated nicely on the inside. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was self-serve and basic, but good. The rooms were clean but seemed a little old and musty. The bottom sheet kept coming off the bed to reveal an old mattress cover (they definitely need to invest in new linens). Overall, we had an enjoyable experience.

| For a change, we decided to stay for Parent's Weekend close to Johns Hopkins University. Having grown accustomed to staying in downtown Baltimore or outside of its beltway, we went for convenience. Once we parked the rental car, we never saw it again until we were off to the airport to return home. The Hopkins Inn is unpretentious from the outside, could benefit from some serious updating on the inside, but can boast two important features: very comfortable beds and very quiet (on the side not facing St. Paul Street) despite the fact that its upper two floors are used as a dormitory.
