| the hotel is grand, our large room was beautiful and looked out to the ocean. the service was subtle and flawless. the area is one of the nicest in Lima. We were given an upgrade from the room we booked, possibly because we spent several days earlier in the week in another Orient Express hotel. The linens, bed, pillows were comfortable and fine. the sauna was a treat. the hotel has a rooftop pool and a very nice rooftop restaurant. the excercise room was small, and very clean, cool, and well stocked with necessities and good equipment. The concierge was very helpful and thorough, and the reception staff was friendly and greeted us by name. We requested several items that required special consideration from the staff. The hotel uses a service that is convenient, although somewhat expensive, compared to the cost of taxis in Lima. if you are nervous about safety of taxis in Lima (you should be very cautious), use the service. we used both. The only glitch was that our flight from another city was delayed, and, when we arrived in Lima very late at night, the hotel car did not meet us at the airport. one room service meal was incorrect and was corrected by the staff.
