  • Directly across the street from Waikiki Beach, this self-contained, two-tower resort spans an entire block and is within a two-minute walk of enormous Kapiolani Park and a three-minute drive to Diamond Head crater.
  • As part of a $60-million renovation, extra-large guestrooms have contemporary elegance, including tie-back drapes. All have view balconies.

    Features
What to expect: Occupying 5.3 acres of prime Waikiki real estate, this large resort hotel offers every facility and service needed for a complete vacation. All of Waikiki's shopping, dining, and entertainment is within walking distance, as is Kapiolani Park, Honolulu Zoo, and the Waikiki Aquarium.

Amenity highlights: An expansive, third-floor terrace in the front tower provides a perfect spot for enjoying the Hawaiian sun. The ocean-view terrace has a large heated pool and a restaurant that offers live Hawaiian music at night above the colorful scene on Waikiki's main street, Kalakaua Avenue. Directly across Kalakaua is Kuhio Beach Park, a casual family destination featuring an enclosed salt-water lagoon with a sand bottom. Kuhio Beach is an extension of—and indistinguishable from—the better-known Waikiki Beach, which is a two-minute walk from the hotel. But for most visitors, it's all the same beach.

Insider tip: Patience rewards at the Lo’I Lounge. Just as at a real beach, the lava-rock pile spurts and blows at various times from various places, with the big blowhole going off periodically. The entire show is worth the wait.

Kuhio Beach Grill - This casual restaurant offers a daily breakfast, plus off-the-menu choices. A dinner buffet with Hawaiian entertainment is available.

Moana Terrace - This open-air spot overlooking the ocean serves light lunches and appetizers in the evenings accompanied by live Hawaiian music.

Restaurant Run - Located in the front tower, this is the spot for fast-food sushi.

Arancino di Mare - This Italian restaurant features pastas and pizzas in an indoor/outdoor setting. Open for lunch and dinner.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar and d.k. Steak House - This double-concept restaurant offers panoramic views of Waikiki Beach. Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar serves a variety of dishes such as new-wave sushi and contemporary Pacific Rim specialties. d.k Steak House features premium dry-aged steaks.

Seattle's Best Coffee - Available in two locations (one in each tower) and serves pastries and coffee all day long.

The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa is one of the better hotels in the area. It is rather close to the beach area and has many features in the hotel and pretty cheap compare to other hotels in that area. They were able to extend our room check out time for our last day until the bus pick us up at 2pm. The people here are very nice and gives excellent recommendation on where to eat and what to do. The room service is excellent, the maid was able to give us extra towels, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Spend the extra money on an oceanfront room. The view is outrageous. They all have a balcony facing west so there's a fantastic sunset every evening. Hotel very clean, staff very pleasant. Close to everything. Better food at the pool bar than the restaurant.

The location of this hotel is great - right across the street from the beach. One thing I didn't like is that we could hear the guests in the room above us open and close their sliding door. We also knew when their toilet flushed. Not a lot of choices as far as the restaurants go so venture out if you want more of a selection and want to spend less. The valet was less than helpful. I had called for an airport shuttle and waited at the front of the hotel where we were dropped of. We sat there for 30 min and no one came over to ask if we needed assistance or not. I assumed we were at the right location for a shuttle pickup so I didn't ask any questions until a little more time had passed. When I approached the valet, I asked if we were in the right spot for a shuttle pickup. He looked over and said I had to go the rear entrance of the hotel. Needless to say we missed our shuttle and had to take a cab. It would have been nice if we knew that shuttle service did not come to the main entrance.

We loved this hotel. It was right in the middle of all the action in Waikiki. Great live music nightly at the Moana Terrace Grill at the hotel and D.K.'s Steakhouse is amazing! We will return some day. Very comfortable and well-maintained hotel.
