| The location of this hotel was very convenient to the Trolley line as well as a short walk to Market Street. The only problem would be for those who have trouble walking the hills. Loved the evening wine tastings - great opportunity to mingle with the other "residents".

| The hotel staff were very accomodating, and the room was a decent size for San Francisco. We were only 4 blocks from Union Square, and walking distance to most destinations, or a short cab ride. Only drawback the room was a bit cold, but the staff are so pleasant, and will help you out wiht your travels with such friendliness. Great place to stay.

| The hotel is small and quiet.. parking is down the street, and at 2006 rates, it was $24 a night.. We ate in a small cafe on Grant and Bush........and it was wonderful! china town is three blocks.. and the cable car picks up right outside hotel at corner.. so thats a plus... the bed was really comfortable. tho arranged in a way that does take advantage of the small space.. has air, so on hot nights, is comfortable.. and you can adjust to your liking... I would stay in this hotel again...

| The hotel was excellent for touring San Francisco. There is a cable car stop within one block, great shopping at Union Square (3 blocks), and it's possible to walk to Fisherman's Wharf (about 40 min). The room was a little small but reasonably comfortable. I recommend this hotel for those travellers who are very focused on touring the city, as the hotel lacks some amenities that would make it a good place to just 'hang out.'

| If cost and location are paramount, then this hotel is a good pick. Do not anticipate the amenities of the chains. Corner cuttings include: two bath towels for two guests only; no clean sheets after first night without complaints; continental breakfast is poor and packed; and no on-site bar, restaurant, etc. The rooms are not charming, but nor are they dingy. The most negative experience was the lack of internet capability (it claims to have a provider, but connecting and reliable service is not part of the deal). We had to walk down Bush Street to find a wireless connection at a local restaurant, or down Powell Street to another hotel to locate a reliable connection.

| This is a great location, half a block from the cable car and 2 blocks from Union Square. Our room was clean but smelled like cigarette smoke even though the hotel is supposedly non-smoking. It was on the second floor looking out on an ally and the dumpsters. I recommend you request a specific room - on an upper floor overlooking Bush street.
