Features
What to expect: Distinguishable from afar by its four gleaming copper towers, this business- and family-friendly hotel has 100,000 square feet of meeting space. The two-tiered lobby offers leather bench seats. An abstract bronze sculpture juts through one side of the nine-story skylit atrium, the center of which is dominated by cylindrical glass elevators, dotted on the edges with sparkling lights.

Amenity highlights: This hotel includes four restaurants, a bar, and a fast-food pantry. Private enclaves around the perimeter of the lobby contain small tables, chairs, and data port hookups where businesspeople can connect their laptops or meet with colleagues. A heated and air conditioned skyway offers access to the adjacent Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. A fitness center is on site (fee), and in-room massages can be arranged (fee). Use of the indoor pool is free.

Garden Terrace - This casual, family-friendly American restaurant is open to the lobby atrium. At breakfast, the menu includes pancakes, cereals, muffins, and eggs. Lunch and dinner menus include soups, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. The restaurant opens early each day and closes late. An optional buffet is offered at each meal.

Knuckles Sports Bar - Open daily for lunch and dinner, this spacious bar is a popular spot that is especially lively during important games, such as the World Series, Super Bowl, and NCAA championships. Booths situated along the outer edges include their own mini-TV. The American grill menu features barbecued chicken wings, chicken fingers, steak wrap sandwiches, BLT sandwiches, and hamburgers.

Sarah's Pantry - A convenient place to grab a quick bite, Sarah's has shelves stocked with items such as mini cereal boxes, fruit, health bars, and potato chips. Refrigerators and freezers carry beverages, ice cream bars, and frozen meals. Fresh-brewed coffee and espresso is always available. A self-serve microwave is available for heating frozen foods, and an assortment of bagels, muffins, pastries, and brownies is available throughout the day. Beer, wine, and liquor also are sold here.

The Other Place - This steak and seafood restaurant on the lobby level has dark wood, candlelit tables, and an old-world, clubby feel. Specialties are the ribeye, filet, and surf-and-turf. The Other Place is available for private parties and is open when the hotel is fully booked. Guests should call ahead to confirm the current schedule.

I stayed in the Executive Tower, which is separated from the main concourse. It was very quiet and enjoyable. All the bed linens are new and the beds are very comfortable.

Pretty average hotel for the business traveller. Keep in mind, you do have to cross an onramp and offramp of a major highway to get to the trains. I believe it is near a flightpath as I did hear some planes fly overhead a couple of times. It's decent and convenient.

I was in town for a few Cubs baseball games and to visit with friends. The room was clean and very comfortable. The bed was wonderful and I always slept easily. The metro stop is only a few blocks away. The staff was all very courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. Drawbacks: The incidentals will really add up. The fees for even small amounts of internet access (sans laptop) were pretty steep. Parking was kind of a hassle. I would definitely recommend the Hyatt Regency to anyone travelling who doesn't have to be downtown.

Not impressed, but it's an airport hotel, what can I expect?

We thought that because it was a Hyatt, we could count on top quality. However, the grounds and outside of the hotel felt very dated. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, but even though it was clearly labeled a non-smoking room, the minute we walked in, I was struck with the smell of old cigarette smoke. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was noticeable.

The hotel seemed to have trouble keeping other guests from being totally loud and rowdy until 3:00 am and beyond-when we complained security was sent to that floor and then someone pulled the fire alarm We were traveling with a 14 month old baby and it was hard enough getting her to sleep-let alone keeping her asleep with the noise!

Overall, a fantastic hotel. Great beds; VERY accomodating staff. Met every request made to their Perfect Stay button on the phone. Watch out for the minibar - lifting or moving items creates a charge, but they graciously removed it upon checkout.
