| We booked on relatively short notice and were relatively happy with the hotel. We read other reviews so knew to expect something closer to 4star for 5 star hotels in Portugal/Lisbon. We arrived at 8:30am and were able to check in which was fantastic although we ended up in a standard room with 2 twin beds with a tiny window even though we had booked a deluxe double room. They did not have any avail for non-smoking at the time and were not very forthcoming about trying to get us a room later in the day if one came up once we were in our standard room. Beds are kind of hard - another review had said this and I can vouch for that fact. The showers were very, very nice - rainfall type water spout along with shower head option with great water pressure. We could have showered all day long - just couldn't figure out how to turn on the bathroom airvents (in any of our rooms at 3 hotels in Portugal - I'm sure it was something simple but we just didn't get it). The hotel is pretty walkable to the down town area but definitely a little more out of the way compared to some of the other hotels. It took about 25-30min to walk - we used the uphill return as our exercise after dinner each day :) The breakfast is pricey but was the nicest breakfast buffet of the 3 diff hotels we stayed at. They had a bit of everything including the very tasty napolitana de chocolate pastries - I would have tried to eat more if I had realized how expansive it was compared to others.

| Le Meriden Atlantic Park Hotel is a very nicely decorated hotel with a very pleasant and helpful staff. The rooms and the bathrooms were good size and well maintained. Our room had a tv, mini hi-fi system, a mini-bar, safe and a hair dryer but no clock. The staff spoke English which was extremely helpful to us. They gave advice and recommendations when ever we would inquire. The breakfast buffet in the hotel was very expensive, 21 Euros. We order room service for breakfast one morning which was also expensive but it arrived within 15 minutes. The hotel had turn down service complete with chocolates and the weather forecast for the following day. We arrived in Portugal at 6am and got to the hotel by 7am and they let us check in. We were thrilled! The hotel was not in the busier/tourist section of town but across the street from a park. It was about a 15 minute walk to the Rossio. Since we did a lot of walking to explore the different neighborhoods, we would take a taxi to the area that we were going to explore then started our walking tour. Taxi rides from the hotel were inexpensive: 5.50 Euros to the airport, 3.60 Euros to Bairro Alto or Alfama, 6.20 Euros to the Parque das Nacoes and a little over 5 Euros to Belem. Taxi cars were plentiful in Lisbon and there was never a problem getting a taxi in any area of the city, day or night. Most areas had a street or several streets with taxi lines. I recommend Le Meridien Atlantic Park Hotel and would stay here again myself.

| The location is a must, although the services are a little expensive. For an extra daily charge the guest may use the fitness club located at the park opposite the hotel. Spacious rooms, nice views. Cozy bar. Missed a place for an afternoon tea, other than the bar.
