Features
What to expect: A family-friendly place, the resort offers end-of-the-road seclusion—no buildings east or south—and padded lounges for comfortable sunning with views of cliffs and ocean. Amenity highlights: A three-section family pool includes a large children's area and swim-up bar, with an adjacent 15-person spa offering social soaking. A second pool also includes a children's area and a swim-up bar. Hidden away for adult seclusion, a third pool produces waves at the push of a button for resistance lap swimming. The pristine beach offers expansive jogging and walking space, but the Pacific is not safe for swimming here due to strong undercurrents. Insider tip: Next to the adult wave pool, a large barbecue grill and food preparation area provides guests an opportunity to grill outdoors.
La Roca - Serving à la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this indoor-outdoor restaurant specializes in seafood, steak, and Mexican selections at dinner and sometimes offers a breakfast buffet. Wednesday nights there's a taco buffet and Saturday nights a Mexican buffet. Bar Trebol - A sushi chef ensures this open-air, beachside spot is not just another snack-food place—although snacks such as burgers and nachos are available, too. Televisions are tuned to sports.

| It's a good getaway place. The view is so impressive, although you cannot swim on its beach, like many beaches in Los Cabos. But there's a nice beach five min. from the hotel by car. Don't try the food at the bar, but definetely go to eat at its resaturant: really good food! Our room was eqquipped with a small fridge that turned out to be really useful. You probably would like to rent a car when staying at this hotel, although the beach and Cabo San Lucas it's just fifteen minutes away by foot.

| We vistited August 6-10 2006. We chose to stay at Solmar because for the price, it appeared to be clean and quiet. We were not disappointed. The room was modest, with whitewashed walls and tile floors. We had a Junior ocean view suite, on the second floor. We had a small balcony which we loved having our morning coffee on (provided in the room) and watching the fishing boats head out. The beach is just beautiful. We understood before arriving that Solmar beach isn't for swimming. I would gladly trade that lack of people for the beauty of Solmar! For crowds we went to Playa Medano..and were happy to come home to Solmar! We did the hike mentioned by previous reviewers to Lover's Beach. This is not just a "little hike" over small rocks! Be careful when you go and if you can take someone who has gone before. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who isn't active or children! It was lovely though! Lover's beach was much smaller than all the guide books show it, but I think the time of year has an effect. Our only complaints with Solmar, but you will get this everywhere, is the timeshare presentation they book you in to upon arrival. We did it so we could get a discount on tours. They will tell you it is only 75 min. Plan on 3 hrs. Oh. and the shower head in the room sprayed horribly! lol. Other than that everything was wonderful.

| It's proximity to town and great private beach just yards from lovers/divorce beaches at land's end made Solmar a great choice for us.

| We just returned from a one-week stay at Solmar Suites . . . and absolutely loved it! We have four teenagers and the setting and location couldn't of been more perfect. We loved the beautiful, clean, quiet beach (remember no swimming though!) and enjoyed hearing the surf from our comfortable rooms. The pools were nice and we loved the happy hours each day. The easy walk to town made the trip perfect for our family.

| The Solmar staff was obliging and meals at the hotel were very good. You could stay at the hotel and do as much or as little as you want. (tennis, the pool, book tours, etc.) The ocean view is wonderful. You can't really swim in the beach in front of the hotel, however this is true of most of Cabo San Lucas. The Pacific is very rough. If you want someplace quiet and not too far from the town, Solmar Resort is a good place to stay.

| The hotel was a great place to stay, our room over looked the pacific ocean. The beach was deserted most of the time. Plenty of pools and loads of spare sunbeds. Nice restaurant and decent priced room service. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from the town centre which can be quite tough in the heat but plenty of taxi if not feeling energetic.

| We were in Cabo for a wedding and spending most of our time in a villa. However, we arrived early and spent the first part of our trip at Solmar. We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was great; from the front desk staff to the bartenders. What we like most about Solmar was that it was a little removed from downtown, therefore, quiet and relaxing. However, still close enough to walk to downtown and enjoy the nightlife. We would definitely stay there again.

| If you are looking for a small, secluded, affordable hotel then I would suggest the Solmar Suites. I visited the Solmar Suites more than 30 years ago and it continues to impress me with its beautiful architecture and its cleanliness. The food is very good, though could use more selections. Its dramatic location against the rocks of Land's End is spectacular as are the crashing waves. Unfortunately, there is no swimming on this beach, but you will have it all to yourself. No curio hawkers or public. There are two pools w/ bars on-site. Not far from the marina with its great restuarants. The hearty can walk to town, but taxis are available.

| We had the opportunity to be in a newer, ocean view room upon arrival and then we elected to move to the older building to a ground level, ocean front room. What a spectacular view!! The hotel was very clean and the grounds keep and maintenance staff work diligently to keep it that way. The walk to town thru the marina is easy and an experience. The Fiesta night was fun, food was good, swim up bar a blast, happy hour a must!!! Music at the pool would be a great addition to add to the atmosphere. The hotel has great character. Can't wait to go back!!

| It's far enough away from the riff raff of town, but in walking distance. Large private beach with no public access. Great service and food. We will always stay at Solmar when visiting Cabo.
