| We booked this place last minute. We wanted to relax and do nothing. It was very quiet. Not alot going on. It is a big property and there is no transportation to get around the resort. The beach and pool is at the opposite end of the main building and restaurants so to go back and forth between your room and either of these locations is a hassle. There is a covered path to walk under so your not in the sun but it's still hot and a bit of a walk.

| The grounds of this hotel were very well taken care of and the layout was unique, with sporadic water flowing between main lobby and other main buildings. The staff were very nice and helpful, although speaking Spanish will be a plus. There was a nice sandy beach, but the water is very shallow, which makes the water look not as blue as in some other areas. Only negative was, you've got to get up very early if you want a space under the shaded palapas, whether by the pool or beach. Seems like it's common for people to get up early am (I mean by 5:00), lay their towels out, go back to bed, have breakfast, before they show back up to their towels. The food at the buffets is average to good, although we found making reservations at their "theme" restaurants was a better choice. The quality of food was much better and it was nice to be seated and waited on. There was no additional cost to do this but we advise making reservations early on arrival because the times do get filled up fast. We did upgrade to the Catalonia Royal, which was for adults only, and you also have use of your own restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and have 24/7 room service. This area of the hotel is much quieter and not as crowded. You also get a designated "private" beach area and have a separate pool area. Overall, our stay here was very pleasant, very relaxing. We'll definitely consider going back to this hotel when we go back to D.R.

| When our luggage didn't arrive in Punta Cana I was worried this was a bad omen. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised. We took this trip with our 18 and 22 year old sons. The rooms were fine. My sons were supposed to get two twin beds as opposed to a king bed, but eventually we had a cot there. Next time I would call in advance to make sure this was happening. The beach and pool were wonderful - plenty of room and plenty and very relaxing. There were many places to sit and relax and people watch throughout the hotel. The kids went to the disco a few times. It was very small, but I think they enjoyed it. The casino is very small, but unless you are a big gambler it is all you need. The food is okay - nothing spectacular, but I expect that with all all-inclusive places. There was plenty to eat and one could always find something, but it is not the food that is the attraction. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. The shows were a bit hokey, but fun. In all it was a very relaxing time - especially once our suitcase arrived

| This is one of the first places that actually lived up to its website pictures! The place was beautiful, the people were the most pleasant and helpful. The only downside is the food. While their Japanese and French restaurants are GREAT, the two buffet restaurants offer variety but not quality. And becareful with the Mexican restaurant, I was sick the next day from my chimichanga. Otherwise, drinks and food are okay. Service is GREAT. Activities: definitely do the ATV Four Wheeler Tour (it's right on the beach and for $35 a person, you ride along the coast for 3 hours of fun). And the entertainment team by the pool is lots of fun. Overall experience: Enjoyable and worth it.
