Features
What to expect: Opening directly onto Barcelona’s busiest street, the lobby provides a calm and peaceful retreat from the bustle outside. Leisure travelers are predominant here due to the central location. Although the building is modern, the interior has been designed with simple but classic Art Deco detailing in the wood paneling and sleek brass banisters.

Amenity highlights: All four of the hotel’s meeting rooms overlook the Ramblas and are lit by natural light. They can cater for a variety of professional functions. Parking space is rare in the center, however the hotel provides secure parking facilities beneath the building.

Insider tip: Regardless of the multitude of food establishments in the area, the hotel’s La Poma restaurant is one of the best places to sample a traditional paella. Make sure you call reception to book a table as it can be busy on any night of the week.

La Poma - The hotel’s pride and joy, La Poma restaurant is divided into two distinct sections. On the first floor level is a large room with traditional Spanish decor. A varied menu is on offer here, but the highly regarded specialties are meat dishes from the charcoal grill and the traditional sea-food paella. Also on offer is fresh fish of the day and lobster. Downstairs at street level the same menu is on offer but in a more casual, cafeteria-style setting. Both sections of the restaurant are busy with outside visitors every night and have an independent entrance from the street.

Breakfast room - Adjacent to La Poma restaurant, this room serves a comprehensive buffet breakfast for hotel guests every day.

Café Bar Royal - Located at the back of the lobby, this peaceful area is a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the street outside. Coffee, tea, and cocktails are served here. International newspapers are provided and dial-up Internet access is available (surcharge) for those with a laptop computer.

Right on the Ramblas (main strip), very close to Plaza Catalunya (main square), clean, nice staff, but ventilation did give us smoke a few days. If you want a quiet spot away from the crowds, stay in a different areas. If you want to just walk to the main attractions, stay here.

We stayed here for 2 nights after a cruise around the Meditteranian. We booked two rooms for our family of five, the family suite and a superior room overlooking Las Ramblas on the Royal floor. They were both perfect, my kids (14, 12, & 11 years old) particularly enjoyed the jacuzzi tub in the family room. We were able to watch all the excitement going on down on the boulevard. It was especially exciting since we where there the night Italy won the world cup, what a show! The famous fruit and vegetable market was only a short walk away. We ate dinner in their adjoining restaurant which was very good. We can't wait to go back, maybe without the kids next time!

This is the second year we have stayed at this hotel but the first time we had a room overlooking La Ramblas. The room, view and service were all great. The location was perfect to wander the old part of the city and still walk to department stores and botiques in the newer sections.

The hotel is located right on La Rambla close to many shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was a bit small, but normal by European standards. Housekeeping was good. Breakfast was well stocked. I would stay there again.

It's in a great location. Right on the La Rambla about a block from Placa Catalunya. The room was very small and not the most comfortable (the beds are smaller than twins). But it was very clean and very quiet. I had a room facing La Rambla and I barely heard anything from the street. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel. Too expensive (13 Euros) for a continental breakfast. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within sight of the hotel.
