| The Marriott Hotel San Jose, while pricey, is quite a gem. I couldn't believe it was only 10 years old, as they did an excellent job simulating historic Spanish architecture and design--down to (reproduced?) antique furnishings and intricate tiling. We really enjoyed our Tappas dinner at one of their restaurants, which included live performance of Spanish guitar and dancers. The gift shop is really nice (mostly Costa Rican products at reasonable prices), and is attached to a very nice coffee house. The rooms are well built and quiet. The airport shuttle was also very convenient, as was the free coffee stand set up in the lobby's waiting area. If you are looking to stay in the city proper, then I'd choose differently. But if you want a place that's gorgeous to stay that's very convenient to the airport, I'd choose the Mariott. Also, for adventure travellers who somewhat roughed it during their Costa rican journey, leaving aside a last day to pampaer yoru self and relax at the Mariott would be a wise choice.

| After quite an action-adventure trip, this hotel was a sight for sore eyes...we stayed here our final night in Costa Rica before flying out the next afternoon, but in hindsight I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was so welcoming with a very comfortable bed, attractive furnishings, and all the amentities you could want. The hotel itself is situated on a coffee plantation and looks like a big, charming hacienda with 2 pools, driving range, tennis courts, hot tub, spa with many massage/facial services, 2 beautiful restaurants, and impeccable customer service. Even with all these amenities, we still did not feel lost or like just another customer. The hotel was so beautiful and charming. Our stay here was phenomenal. And, the free shuttle service to the airport was 10 minutes! They will also arrange for car rental pick-up/drop-off if you've rented a car during your stay in CR.

| The hotel is situated next to a coffee plantation and is close to the airport in San Jose. We stayed here the first and last night of our trip to be close to the airport. We loved the upstairs patio bar and restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful. We will definately stay here again.
