| After reading reviews of various hotels, we chose this one. Decent hotel, clean, staff was a little clueless for basic requests (like ice) but otherwise kept things clean and refreshed. Positives: About one block away from Gare du Nord, so all transportation options are within easy reach- including the Metropolitan Rail. Plenty of dining options in and around the block closest to the train station. For us, we were able to see the sights during the day, go back to the hotel quickly, change into better attire, and go out for the evening with little effort, and that's all we really needed. Negatives: No A/C, no in-room safe, and a somewhat treacherous bathroom. The staff didn't take anything, though. No in-hotel dining, but that was less a concern given the large number of choices within two blocks. As with many rooms in Paris, it's small (approxmately 14 feet by 12 feet) and that contains your bathroom, too. No A/C stunk in late June. If you get a low floor (like 1st floor) be prepared for 'urban noise' every night. TV was okay with roughly 16 channels but since it was during the World Cup, it's difficult to rate (b/c that was really all that was on). If these drawbacks aren't for you, then this hotel is not for you- but it did well for us and we'd recommend it to anyone.

| This place was a little quirky, as European hotels often are, but it was extremely convenient to the Gare du Nord, two subway lines, bus lines, numerous good and moderately priced brasseries, and an internet place.
