Ocean Pointe Suites at Key Largo Amenities

Charcoal barbecue grills and picnic tables are located near each of the resort's five buildings. Playground equipment is available next to the tennis courts. A large swimming pool offers lap lanes and a shallow side area. Lounge chairs and shady thatched canopies are found along the private beach, boardwalk, and marina.

Recreation
The resort includes two lighted tennis courts and a beach volleyball court. Kayaks, scuba and snorkeling gear, and boats can be rented from the harbormaster. The recreational activities listed below are available near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: Screened from the highway by a thick mangrove forest, the gated, 60-acre resort is a tranquil environment for family vacations. Sand-and-white buildings with blue roofs and shutters blend into a natural setting of green foliage, the blue Atlantic Ocean, and white sand. The marina, with parking lots for trailers and a ramp capable of handling craft up to 26 feet, attracts boaters to the resort.

Amenity highlights: A large pool with lap lanes, a deck furnished with lounge chairs, and a six-person spa tub provide swimming, sunbathing, and soaking opportunities. Roughly 120 by 120 feet, a beach composed of sand and tiny pebbles slopes into a small cove (though suitable for swimming, the cove often contains seaweed). The beach has a volleyball net and thatched canopies. A boardwalk and marina offer additional shady resting areas.

Insider tip: On a rocky point next to the swimming cove, a 250-foot wood walkway leads to a cabana sheltering seats that provide serene contemplation of the ocean at sunrise and on moonlit nights.

All guests have the option of a complimentary Continental breakfast served every morning at Ocean Pointe Café and Lounge.

Ocean Pointe Café and Lounge - Located on the second floor of the registration building, overlooking the marina and ocean. Open for breakfast daily, then serving sandwiches, salads, pizza, and snacks to accompany cocktails during afternoons and evenings.

We had a few problems in the first room that was assigned to us with Ants. The staff (super-nice) moved us immediately to another room. Nice pool, wasn't crowded and in a good location.

On the last day we were there we noticed dust all over the place, expcially on the walls and behind the bed. There wasn't many pots and pans in the kitchen. It would be nice to have more amenities provided, extra towles, paper towels, trashbags ext. Overall it was a nice place to stay, it was nice to have a condo with washer/dryer. we were under the impression there was twin beds in the 2nd bedroom, so you may want to ask when making the reservation.

This was a great place to stay if you are into diving, boating or fishing. We enjoyed having a kitchen and washer/dryer. . . albeit small. The bed wasn't the best we've ever had. And please know that since you are in essence renting a timeshare condo, no daily maid service. However, for the money it did the job and we enjoyed our stay.

This is a condo. You will be staying in someone else's home which adds to the comfort. The pool is large and boats are welcome. The hotel is centrally located.

This was the most affordable and closest key for us to visit to get in: our fishing, snorkeling and watersports. The conveniences far outweighed the inconveniences. For a family of five the 2 bedroom suite was perfect. The staff was very attentive, the jacuzzi tub was broken upon arrival, but fixed during our stay, I'm sure if I would have mentioned the broken couchbed sooner, it would have been fixed too! It was nice to have a full kitchen, and I didn't need to bring my own blender for Margueritas! The dryer over washer unit was great to have; I was able to give our beach towels a quick wash at night so they were always fresh for the next day. Seeing our boat in it's slip from our balcony was a great, even though there was no need to worry about security. Beach was good for easy snorkeling, Couldn't figure out the hours of the restaurant/lounge. Continental breakast was very basic, but sufficient, Don't count on the dockmaster, he's only there for weekends even though we still had to pay a launch fee and slip rental. Will definitely make this an annual visit, but be sure to voice any concerns upon arrival. A one day trip to Key West was easy enough. Quickest resort in the keys to get to when driving with 3 kids!

Next time I go to the Keys I will stay in Islamorada about 10 miles south. Much nicer lot's of resorts there as well. Over all Hotel/Condo OK. The breakfast is a joke, trans-fat laden bagels and mini muffins, mind that it's free. Shower water pressure poor. Lot's of calcium in pipes in Florida from what I remember. WiFi available in cafe and check-in area. and the north rooms of building 5 where we where ( weak signal). The beach is a mangrove swamp. If you are looking for beaches stay in Miami. We saw a few Palmetto bugs ( Florida roaches) in hotel but they are everywhere in S.Florida can't be avoided.

This is a good place. The 'beach' is a little disapointing, but you can go just a short drive and be at at great beach. The pool was nice and it was very convenient to the middle keys attractions.

This hotel was in a nice location that is off the highway in a cozy little area near the water that you can walk to. Everything was really nice except for the fact that I actually saw 3 huge roaches in my room. I know there were a lot more though, and it didn't leave a nice feeling with me at all. Nice place, but stay at your own risk.

Arriving, it was beautiful. We were given a room in the building which I requested, but the AC was broken. We called the front desk and they apologized and said there were no rooms available, but they would have us moved by 12 the next day. After hours of getting the run around, my husband went to the front desk, and spoke with the Manager which claimed he knew nothing about our situation. My husband, really irritated, told them we better get a new room with an upgrade to a 2 bedroom for the inconvienence. By this time I had wasted a whole day of my vacation trying to get us moved into a new room. We finally went to the front desk and stood right in front of them until about 5pm when we were finally moved into a new room & upgraded to a 2 bedroom. Other than the one day of my vacation being ruined, this place was pretty nice. The new room was great, but I didn't like the small balcony. The pool was wonderful and well-kept. The dock & beach area were clean and well landscaped, & the pier was beautiful. The beach wasn't really what I had expected,(a little too rocky for my taste). The breakfast was small, but sufficient. Overall not bad, but I will probably stay in Key West on my next vacation to the keys!
