We stayed at this hotel because of it's proximity to LAX, we had an early morning flight. When we arrived my husband asked for a room facing westso he could see the runways. We were given a room on the top floor facing east. We called down to the front desk and they came right up to our room with a room key to a west facing room. Very friendly. Nice decor and good location if you are passing through LAX.

The Renaissance is a beautiful hotel; however, the service staff, especially the night service staff, i.e., bellman, front desk, and barman were abolutely unacceptable. We arrived at 9:30PM on Friday and had to take an 8:30AM flight to Honolulu the next morning. The bus shuttle was horried. The first shuttle that picked us up at LAX said he was going to the Renaissance, he was mistaken and dumped us at the next stop at LAX. It took 40 minutes for a 5 minute ride. The next morning the bus did not arrive in 40 minutes. The Express Shuttle had to be called. Upon returning at 10PM Saturday night the next week, we took a cab to the hotel. No bellman at all! The desk clerk never looked up when she checked us in. This is supposed to be a First Class Hotel! The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and the food is good. These few flaws marred our experience because they were easily correctable, but no one seemed to care. Too bad! We expected better service from the staff.

The hotel was very nice and accomendating. However, there's not a lot of places to eat. Although, the hotel itself had two restaurant, they were on a bit pricey. Your only other option was the Burger King across the street. Overall, the hotel was great.
