Amenities | Recreation | Features | Reviews

Camino Real Acapulco Diamante Amenities
A two-level, open-air, marble-floor lobby frames a view of Puerto Marques Bay and features a lobby bar on the lower level offering cushioned rattan seating next to gentle rock waterfalls and electronic-piano music afternoons and evenings. Dolphins often can be seen frolicking in the bay, and sunsets are in view.

A large health-and-beauty spa offers massages, hydrotherapy, body scrubs and wraps, and facials. Men's and women's sections include steam rooms, pressure showers, and hydro-reflexology tubs. The spa's beauty salon offers waxing, hair and nail care, and hand, foot, eye, and neck treatments. An air-conditioned fitness room contains cardio and weight machines (surcharges).

Children age 4–11 enjoy complimentary, supervised activities in an air-conditioned clubhouse and outdoors during summer, on major holidays, and on most weekends. Between July 19 and August 20, children are served complimentary lunch in the clubhouse.

A doctor's office is staffed by a nurse during the day, with a doctor on call around the clock. A business center offers computers. Shops sell resortwear, beachwear, gifts, sundries, and snack foods. The resort purifies its water.

Recreation
An independent operator at the resort rents snorkeling gear and arranges water sports at Puerto Marques Beach. The water sports include personal watercraft, motor boating, scuba diving, fishing, parasailing, and water skiing. Horseback riding on ocean beaches noted for surfing and jet-boat river trips are popular activities.

Acapulco has four championship 18-hole golf courses, all located in the same area about 6 miles (10 km) from the resort.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or near the resort; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: Shielded by a steep, green hillside, the 81-acre resort attracts couples seeking tranquil, rest-and-relaxation holidays away from downtown Acapulco's big-city bustle. Families come in summer and on major holidays, with some families arriving from Mexico City on weekends year-round.

Middle and lower decks offer 75-foot-long (23 m) freeform pools joined by waterfalls. From the lower deck, a 25-foot staircase leads to a private, 50-by-30-yard (46-by-28-meter) beach flanked by boulders and lapped by calm, transparent water. Sand terraces above the bay and pools' sundecks offer striped umbrellas and cushioned lounge chairs.

Insider tip: Located on the southern end of the bay 3.25 miles (5 km) from the resort, the town of Puerto Marques features dozens of rustic, open-air restaurants lining a 0.5-mile (1-km) beach.

Part of a chain within most large cities of Mexico. Popular with families from Mexico City with a few couples from other countries. Recommend the large boat tour of the harbor. City SUV tour was mostly a chance to buy at a silver shop. Driver was limited in English. Hotel was older, but made up for that by the excellent food and the purified water throughout the building & pools.

This hotel was gorgeous and totally lived up to our expectations. The private beach was a treat and the pools are great too. The beds were not the best for comfort and it did get noisy in the mornings. Overall-good experience with very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant right off the beach was great. It's worth being off the strip a bit for peace and quite, it's a short taxi ride away!

The hotel is beautiful and wonderfully relaxing and luxurious. Even though it doesn't advertise as a place for children, it is extremely child friendly. The best bargain (at any room rate!) in Acapulco. Nice mix of about half Mexico City residents and half American and European tourists.

The stay at Camino Real in Acapulco was a great experience, and we will for sure use this hotel for our next visit to Acapulco. Service was excellent, and the location couldn't be better. If the hotel should improve in one area, it would be the breakfast. Price and quality here does not go hand in hand. Too expensive for the quality of the food, or quality has to improve to match the price.

This hotel is secluded-away from all the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. Highly recommended if you just want to get away and relax-without the party scene. The staff was wonderful and the hotel views were absolutely amazing. I read reviews that the food prices at the hotel were high, so I was expecting to pay a lot. I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were reasonable--given the secluded nature of the hotel. Would definitely go back. Nothing to complain about. Amazing views and awesome weather!
