Recreation
The visitors center for the 14,000-acre Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, one of only four urban wildlife refuges in the United States, is just 1.5 miles east of the hotel. Prime activities there include walking the trails, bird-watching, and nature photography. Also nearby is Fort Snelling State Park, with facilities for hiking, biking, skiing, and canoeing. The Mall of America, of course, provides miles of corridors for all-season walking. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: The hotel consists of two towers, one built in 1994 and the other added in 1997. Guests check in at the west entrance, where a fireplace and hardwood floors lend the country aura this chain represents. The east entrance is where free shuttle buses to the airport and Mall of America depart, creating a crowded foyer when shoppers are out in legion. Although it attracts its share of business travelers during the week, this hotel thrives on mall shoppers with families in tow. Amenity highlights: The two-tower layout creates double amenities on the ground floor: two pools and two spas. Nearby are a fitness center and hallway connections to two restaurants. A Continental breakfast of cereal, pastries, fruit, and eggs is free daily, with waffles available on weekdays.
Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary Continental breakfast each morning. Nearby restaurants: International House of Pancakes - attached T.G.I. Friday's - attached Chevys Fresh Mex

| We stayed while shopping at the Mall of America. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the mall. It is pretty difficult to cross the street so taking the shuttle is probably the best bet. It runs every 15 minutes from the east entrance of the hotel, and was consistantly on time when we used the service. The rooms are a little bit smaller than other Country Inn & Suites, but there is still 2 separate living areas (bedroom and kitchen). We only stayed one night, but would have been comfortable for the whole week. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

| We stayed here because of proximity to Mall of America, Not enough staff at check-in, long wait while staff answered 50 questions from someone that did not even stay, room had debri from previous person on counters and dressers, air conditioner was very loud (would wake you up when clicked in), pool area overwhelming chlorine smell to the point of eye irritation after 5 minutes, not enough seating for continental breakfast, bad to worse during stay.

| The suite we stayed in had a main living area and a bedroom with a door. With the exception of one electrical outlet (which we were able to block with a chair), the main living area was completely child-proof to the point that we were able to let our 13-month old run around and pretty much do whatever she wanted in it without our constant supervision. We just closed the bedroom and bathroom doors and she was good to go! The complementary breakfast was pretty good, offering waffles and french toast some mornings in addition to the usual continental breakfast stuff.

| The location of this hotel is fantastic! Right across the street from the Mall of America, and only a few blocks from a MetroTransit bus stop, which we took to the Minnesota State Fair. The staff of the hotel was helpful, although at one point I called for a shuttle from the airport back to our room, and when they asked me my room number, they said, "I show that you've already checked out." Um, all of my personal belongings were still in the room, and I never spoke to the front desk indicating I was checking out. There was slight confusion, but it was all worked out quickly. I'd stay at the hotel again in a heartbeat!

| My inital contact with the hotel staff on check in was very pleasant. Rooms were nice, bright and larger than average. Great afternoon in the hotel's pool. The hotel is literally right across the street from the MOA. During the night, our door opened and the hotel have given total strangers access to our room. The front desk then accused me of being in the wrong room.

| This hotel could not have been better! We were there to go the Mall of America and we could shop for hours and go back and rest. The hotel has a shuttle that runs every hour to the mall and also picks you up on the hour. This is a plus after you walk so much at the mall. My sister left her purse outside where the shuttles picks you up at the mall and the staff at the hotel found it within minutes! The breakfast is really good also!

| I had read the reviews on this hotel and was expecting it to be the best service ever. The hotel shuttle was excellent and was waiting for us when we got down to ground transportation (I called as soon as the plane landed). The MOA shuttle was also nice to have, although you can walk a little ways down the block and cross the street into the south mall entrance. However, the service we received wasn't the greatest. I went down to the front desk to pick up an extra towel, but was told I would have to wait for Housekeeping to bring me one. So, I went back to my room and waited an hour and no one came. So I called the Front Desk again, and the man said, "So, no one brought you a towel?". I'm thinking, "Would I be calling you if they did?". So I had to wait another 15 min. and I finally got a towel. Also, I thought the people at the Front Desk could have been a bit friendlier. The breakfast buffet was pretty good and it is a pretty nice hotel overall. It was clean and the regular bed was comfortable (the sofa bed was lumpy). Free cookies in the lobby was pretty nice.
