In the main building, a seven-story garden atrium encloses pools, fountains, waterfalls, and seating areas. A spa next to the fitness center offers treatments such as aromatherapy and river-rock massages, body scrubs, and seaweed or herbal body wraps. The hotel hosts complimentary activities such as Spanish lessons, water-balloon tosses, and inner-tube races every day. Guests have access to coin-operated laundry machines and complimentary Internet access via a computer in the lobby.

Recreation
An 18-hole championship golf course designed by Puerto Rican golf champ Chi Chi Rodriguez is adjacent to the hotel within the Dorado del Mar resort/residential community. The course includes water features on 12 holes. At the hotel, guests play tennis on two lighted courts. An air-conditioned fitness center offers cardio and weight machines as well as free weights. Kayaks, pedal boats, snorkeling gear, floats, and tubes can be rented on the beach. Other recreational activities listed below are available near the hotel; fees may apply.

What to expect: Located within a large resort and residential community, the hotel attracts couples and families seeking a casual beachfront vacation. The resort is 22 miles from the bustle of San Juan, set amid the greenery of Puerto Rico's north coast. A peaceful, quiet ambience envelops guests as they enter the Dorado del Mar community's gate. Amenity highlights: The hotel faces a calm ocean lagoon formed by two rock breakwaters with a 100-yard crescent beach. Overlooking the beach are a two-level upper pool with infinity edge, a large lagoon-style lower pool with infinity edge, a children's pool, and a spa tub that accommodates eight. Yellow-and-blue lounge chairs surround the pools, and umbrellas and floats are available for rent. Insider tip: Located 5 miles away, the Hyatt hotel's casino provides complimentary shuttle service to Embassy Suites guests on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
Guests have the option of a complimentary cooked-to-order buffet breakfast each morning and a two-hour complimentary cocktail reception each evening. Paradise Café - Air-conditioned dining room and open-air, ocean-view terrace. Lunch menu includes pizza, salads, and sandwiches, as well as main courses such as steak and seafood. Dinner menu includes salads and sandwiches and features main courses such as seafood stew, chicken curry, lamb chops, and steaks. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Thursday-night steak buffet, Friday-night seafood buffet, Saturday-night Italian buffet. Sunday brunch. Calypso Lounge & Bar - Opens to main-building atrium. Large screen television. Cocktails, beer, and wine. Lunch and dinner menu includes appetizers and sandwiches. Lagoon Pool Bar & Grill - Open-air spot under wood roof. Cocktails, beer, and wine. Lunch choices include burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and salads. De Aqui y de Alla - Golf clubhouse restaurant serving international menu for lunch and dinner.

| It was about a 30-45 minute drive to the hotel from the airport - but worth it as you get to see more of the island. The senic views are breathtaking from the hotel rooms large balcony -so it's worth paying for a suite with a view. You also get a free hot breakfast in the morning and free cocktails at night which made it extra nice. The hotel resort is not in the heart of the action - but makes a nice secluded get-a-way spot. The hotel store could use a little more stocking on personal items, so pack well as the nearest shopping area is a 20 minute walk away (or a 5 minute drive - but who wants to walk 5 minutes to the parked car to drive for 5 mins? Or if you don't have a car what then??). I would recommend having a car if you want to see more than the resort. There are no readily available cabs or shuttles. The only other thing to note is there is no ATM machine in the hotel. Again, it's 20 mins away - at a bank near the shopping area. I would recommend this hotel it a 4 star quality - just remember to pack the nail polish remover and bring cash. A beautiful atrium and beach area are on site also.

| Room was very clean and beautiful. The view of the ocean and pool was wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool is open late, with a bar right at pool area.

| We really enjoyed staying at this resort. The only problem we had was that the room was not ready for us when we got there. Had to wait almost one hour past check in time.

| We enjoyed the hotel very much. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. My son, who is three years old, enjoyed the pools and beach. We were inpressed with the complimentary breakfast (we were not expecting as big a selection). We will definitely be staying here next time we travel to Puerto Rico.

| Outstanding hotel and staff. Suite was beautiful. Staff friendly and very helpful. Included breakfast and happy hour incredible. Probably will be staying next year. Would recommend to anyone going to Puerto Rico.

| I thought the quality, condition, cleanliness, and comfort were wonderful. The pool was gorgeous and the beach was nice. The problem is the hotel is deep in a gated community and you need a car to get anywhere. If you stay there, there are only 2 restaurants (Italian and American) and no "Puerto Rican flavor." This lovely resort could have been anywhere in the world. I was looking for Puerto Rican food, souvenirs, music, and charm. The resort was wonderful, but I didn't experience Puerto Rico by being there.

| My family and I just returned from Puerto Rico and I have to say it was one of the most wonderful experiences I've ever had. I have visited many places throughtout the U.S. but this was one of the best. The hotel although was quite a bit distant from many attractions it was located on a small beach with a beautiful view. It was clean the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The pools were wonderful. My kids 7 & 9 year olds were able to swim freely in any of the 3 pools. The complimentary breakfast was definitely a plus. It had an extensive variety and we never felt rushed. The managers special in the evening was definitely a treat for my husband and I. It ran for two hours which was plenty. I definitely would recommend this hotel to any FAMILY.
