| I booked my stay at the Grand Hotel Des Gobelins after reading many, many reviews of different Paris hotels. This was my first visit so I had no idea of how the city was layed out or where was the best place to stay. And even though this hotel didn't show up in any of the travel books I was reading, Expedia reviews were very encouraging! I loved my room!! European hotel rooms are small, of course, but this room was layed out so nicely that I hardly noticed. I had the corner room overlooking the Boulevard St. Marcel on the 2nd (3rd, in the US!) floor. It was adorable. Kinda octogonal, with two large windows that opened up nice and wide right out to the boulevard. No air conditioning but there was a large floor fan and great circulation through the windows. The bathroom was beautiful--pristine clean with everything up to date modern and another big window that opened wide also to the boulevard. Looking down on the Boulevard St Marcel was beautiful both during the day and at night! The location was great--just a couple blocks to the Les Gobelins Metro stop that took me straight to the Musee Louvre. This line was easy to transfer from as well.

| Cannot express adequately my experience at this hotel. As a woman travelling on my own, I would recommend this to anyone old, young, children. The service was exceptional, the "continental" breakfast was above and beyond and the anchor of my day. The room was clean, clean, clean and the bathroom ooh la la. You are close to everything. A total French experience. To the staff, thank you!

| Let me preface this by saying that hotels and districts within Paris can either be hit or miss; Les Goblelins is a hit. For a three star hotel, I was very impressed. The room was clean and freshened daily and the front desk staff were both courteous and helpful. The area the hotel was situated in is wonderful. You get all the benefits of being in the heart of Paris without necessarily feeling cramped in the middle of a large tourist region. Within walking distance is a Champion supermarket, several incredible Patisseries and reasonably priced restaurants. In short, you have several opportunities when visiting this city. If luxury is what you desire, then this hotel as well as any three star will not be on par to what you are looking for. However, if you are budget conscious or looking to make you dollar go farther within a city that tends to be somewhat pricey, then this would be the hotel and location for you. TO recap: We stayed for 8 evenings at this quaint and comfortable hotel. The room we had was small with an extremely expansive bathroom. For the price we paid and the location we stayed in we were both extremely pleased and will more than likely stay at Grand Hotel Des Gobelins when we return to Paris.

| If you're looking for a decent hotel located near the river and all its sights, while not paying a fortune, Grand Hotel des Gobelins could be a great choice. It is located near the Gobelins and Plaze d'Italie metro stops, and there are many great cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortably sized, if not very big. The bathroom was immaculate and stylish, but did not have a shower curtain. Not a problem if you're young of course. Enjoy your stay in Paris.

| This hotel was even better than I expected ! the desk staff were all very helpful with directions and sugestions for restaurants etc. The buffet breakfast was more than just coffee and croissants and it was free ! The metro was close by as was the Mouffetard Market. I will return .My only complaint was the size of the shower. It was a very tight fit !
