| I got a single queen room, which was small and kind of dark. The room was very clean, although it did have a strong "hotel room" smell. The valet parking I thought was expensive, and I had to wait more than 15 minutes to have my car brought to me. Overall, I was very satisfied.

| I went to NOLA on business, so didn't spend much time in my room except for sleep. However, I was shocked to see that my room had no windows! Well, there was some architectural glass that looked into the room next door, but that just made me feel more exposed than anything. Thank goodness that room was empty! As for the service, it was great. I had lost my luggage, and the front desk was very helpful to me, except for a few nighttime staff that seemed less than enthused to be there. This soon after Katrina, I knew that most of the service people in NOLA would be less skilled than one would expect. These are people who have probably never worked in a hotel before, so if they seemed a little unorganized I was very patient. My big problem was with the windowless room, and maybe with the bathroom being so small that you could barely turn around.

| Prior to Katrina this was one of our favorite small hotels in NO. I hope that as the city comes back so does the R St C. Missed to convenience and charm of the bar, maybe it will reopen.

| My room wasn't ready when I arrived at 4:30. One man was trying to get a lightbulb for his room and had been waiting for quite awhile. My room had no window to anywhere. It was a small closet type. I was just very disappointed.

| When I travel, I try to spend as little time as possible in the hotel room. All I really want or need is a clean, comfortable bed; a clean bathroom; and a place to keep my belongings safe and secure while I'm out seeing the sights. I'd rather spend a little more on meals and shopping than on my room. If you're like me, then you could do a lot worse than the Royal St. Charles. The hotel seemed to be undergoing some minor cosmetic repairs, but aside from that was in pretty good shape. The room was clean, the air conditioner and TV worked, etc. No frills, but then again, I wasn't looking for any. A decent room for a reasonable price. I will definitely consider staying there again on my next trip to New Orleans. One block off Canal Street, across from Royal.

| Great location, just across Canal street from the French Quarter. Comfortable and clean room, although small, the place was in good shape considering the hardships of post-Katrina New Orleans. Unless you spend a lot of money, most New Orleans hotel are all old or shappy in the low to middle price ranges. This was probably the best value-priced hotels I've stayed in New Orleans.

| If you are looking for a quality hotel in the heart of the Crescent City, than this is it. A beautiful hotel that has everything that a person would want: great location. One couldn't ask for anything more.

| The most unfriendly hotel I have ever stayed in. We couldn't check in til 4 p.m. then when we got to our room, 3 of the 4 lights in the room were burned out, and the carpet was dirty. Only one of the three elevators was in service, the fitness room had ceilings out and water dripping thru the ceiling -- but it was open! We went out the first day, came back at 5 pm and the room was not cleaned. The front desk staff was totally their guests. indifferent to I have been back to New Orleans 4 times since Katrina, and have never expereinced this type of attitude or indifference.

| As a former LA native, I had the opportunity to visit New Orleans for my birthday weekend. The front desk people made checking in absolutely awful. No smiles, not even eye contact, much less congenial or prompt service. Once in the room, it was much smaller than anticipated - asking for a wake up call down to the front desk was akin to asking them to gnaw off their own appendage. The location was good, but next time I can go to New Orleans, I will gladly pay a little more for better accomodations as well as better service. Apparently the commercials asking people to come back to New Orleans weren't viewed first by the hotel staff.
