| The Holyrood Aparthotel is more apartment than hotel. Our room came with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room/dining room, and a kitchen. The rooms are well insulated; we didn't hear other guests at all. The room was well cleaned every day. Breakfast consists of cereals, bread, milk, yogurt, etc. in your room. When you run out, the staff will "top it off" when asked. The location is excellent. You access the Royal Mile through Bakehouse Close (less than a block). Being off the Royal Mile itself means less noise and traffic. You are at the lower end of the Royal Mile so you head uphill to see the sights but it's all downhill at night! Holyrood Palace, Dynamic Earth, and the Scottish Parliament are also at the lower end of the Royal Mile. Bus 36 will take you from Holyrood Road to Princes Street where you can catch a bus to anywhere in town. The staff was helpful in providing directions and obtaining taxis. If we ever get the chance to go back to Edinburgh, we'd definitely stay at the Holyrood Aparthotel again.

| We were delighted with the space, and friendliness of the staff. We were traveling with our 20something daughter and having the extra room was perfect. The kitchen is nicer than mine ! Very close to the Royal Mile and great restaraunts. We would stay here again, and again.

| My wife, adult son and I stayed in Edinburgh for the weekend. This hotel is close to the Royal Mile and other local attractions. The suite was very nice, and two bathrooms were handy. The staff were quite helpful with any tourist questions. For the (Expedia) price, a really good deal for the area.

| Wonderful experience. Nice hotel, complete with 2 bdr/2bth. Limited TV choices, esp. for kids. Can't beat the location. One block off Royal Mile. NO A/C (we were staying during hottest July in living memory)! Would go back in a heartbeat, especially when the weather cools down a bit.

| Don't let the outside fool you - this is a very upscale hotel inside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff at checkin were especially wonderful - taking the time to explain all of the features of the apartment. Close to everything in central Edinburgh and the train station for venturing farther. Secured parking is also a plus for those traveling by car.

| The Holyrood Aparthotel in Edinburgh was great. Double rooms, double baths... need I say more? One great thing about the hotel is its location. As the name indicates, it is about a block away from Holyrood Palace, right off the Royal Mile. When in Edinburgh, what better location could you ask for? Another great thing is the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful... from giving directions and making restaurant recommendations to running a carton of milk up to the room for breakfast. I travel to Europe on a fairly regular basis, and the Holyrood Aparthotel is definitely going to be at the top of my list of great places to stay.

| We arrived at the Aparthotel after a 7 hour drive from the London area - mid-way through our driving tour of the UK. We were relived and unexpectedly surprised with the quality of the hotel and the services they provided, initially with a personal tour of our rooms, and later with the amenities themselves. My husband was not crazy about finding the hotel, since it is located in a "close" between Canongate (the Royal Mile) and Holyrood Roads. Since we didn't get directions before we left (our mistake!), we had to find an Edinburgh street map and navigate our way there. The staff was more than kind and helpful and the location couldn't be beat - just steps from Holyrood Palace and within easy walking distance from everything to see on the Royal Mile. We even found a small grocery on Holyrood Road, just outside the "close" to get extra breakfast items, snacks and wine - even though the hotel provided continental breakfast items in our kitchen. For my husband and I and our teenage son, we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen and sitting room accomodation - it is actually a small apartment - thus the name. It was very well worth the price. I had searched through Expedia exhaustively for a reasonably priced hotel room for 3, and this appeared to be a moderately priced room in Edinburgh. I can't imagine what a more expensive room for 3 could have offered - maybe free room service and a butler! We'd stay there again.

| We stayed one night, but wished we'd booked several nights here. The location was quiet, safe, and near parks, shopping, and tourist sites. We had a washer/dryer and kitchenette so we were able to clean clothes, and save money by cooking meals in the room (dining is expensive in Scotland). This hotel provided everything we needed (groceries for breakfast, soap for washer, etc.). The staff were very helpful, and even let us leave our car in the secure parking several hours after we checked out so that we could finish sightseeing. Nice comfortable place, a home-away-from-home. Best hotel, by far, of our 10-day Scotland/England vacation.
