| We drove in from Omaha and arrived early AM...we were allowed to check in early and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is older, but was close to many restaurants and not to far of a drive from downtown (the Gerald Ford Museum). Overall very happy with the experience...

| I thought that this hotel offered the best price and comfort for staying so close to downtown Grand Rapids. My friends and I have stayed at newer hotels way down 28th street near the airport, but would have to drive 20-30 minutes just to get to 131 to go to the newer mall. This Howard Johnson has a decent pool and spa (games like ping pong, pool, shuffle board), room service, bar (karaoke on Saturday nights), and quiet rooms. There is an awesome Mexican restaurant right down the street from it called The Beltline Bar as well. Good food... So, if you are looking to stay close to downtown, and don't wanna pay that much, I would stay here for the weekend!
