Features
What to expect: This 12-story hotel is located in the Gallivan Center complex, three blocks south of Temple Square. Families and business travelers stay here for the close proximity to downtown cultural events, the Salt Palace Convention Center, and the meeting facilities covering the entire second floor of the hotel. The airy lobby is tastefully decorated with marble floors and two comfortable seating spaces.

Amenity highlights: The hotel’s large fitness center has massage treatment rooms, exercise equipment, a small indoor swimming pool, and a spa tub. The 15,000 square feet of meeting space consists of two ballrooms, 14 meeting rooms, and a business center with copy machine, computer with high-speed Internet access, printer, and fax.

Insider tip: The adjacent Gallivan Center hosts complimentary concerts and cultural events every Thursday night in July and August.

Piastra - Traditional American food with an Italian flare in an atmosphere rich with linens and burnished wood. The menu changes seasonally, but the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are always a popular option. The patio overlooks the Gallivan Center plaza.

Club Piastra - An extension of the restaurant, this club has a fireplace and several couches. The full Piastra menu is available.

Starbuck’s Coffee - Specialty coffee drinks, pastries, and other quick items in the lobby.

This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful, clean, safe city. Although valet parking was available we weren't pressured to use it, and instead opted for the parking garage adjacent to the hotel. The room was comfortable, with a nice view of the city, and my only complaint would be that the carpet in the room was a little grungy. It's close to everything. We walked all over the city. Good restaurants abound, and all the tourist attractions are easy to find.

The hotel was very comfortable. The people were so eager to help and always available for questions. The restaurant within the hotel had the best breakfast buffet ever! Bring your swimsuit because the pool and spa were so refreshing.
