This is definately the best place to stay in Belize City. The tower rooms are very nice, as is the entire facility with the exception of the workout room, which was pathetic. Hotel is conveniently located; close to Princess Casino, if you are interested in gambling and to cruise ship dock, if you are interested in shopping. Also close to water taxis and airport for trips to keyes. Biggest problem was hotel employees - some were wonderful, but others were absolutely horrid.

The Radisson Fort George Hotel in Belize City is located in an old part of town. The hotel from the outside just looks old and needs some work. Our rooms were clean, but getting towels or soap can be a challenge. A tip was then left to provide that without us asking everytime. Food was good in the restaurant, but there is better and cheaper close by. Overall, it was just an OK hotel which was over priced for the quality. I have stayed in much better for the same amount of money. A lot of beggars are around and the taxi drivers will hound you everytime you step outside. Understanding that you can be prepared. One real positive, the wait staff, (restauarnat and bar) were VERY courteous and a lot of fun. The Hot Stone was interesting, one of the dining areas of the Radisson but VERY expensive. Compare the Happy Hour menu with the regular bar menu. No price difference.

Front desk was particularly unfriendly when checking in. After requesting the best room available with my reservation, I was stuck on a first floor room that was actually lower than the pool, so my view was of a wooden deck looking up to the pool. Would not recommend that you stay here.

The hotel is quite a way from the airport(30 min.)On the whole it is comfortable and clean but not up to the standards we usually expect for this chain. There is not much to do there in the line of activities either for adults or for children. The food in the restaurants was good. The hotel has sustained hurricane damage in the past but for the most part the hotel and the surrounding area has been or is in the process of being taken care off.

The hotel is on a point overlooking the ocean with fantastic views, especially from the tower rooms. You can open the windows if you like the warm ocean wind blowing though (recommended). The staff was helpful and courteous. We purchased a painting and had to wrap it up before flying home. I inquired at the front dest about obtaining some cardboard to protect the painting. The maintenance person not only got me exactly what I was lookin for but also gave me a roll of duct tape to secure it all. He even brought it up to our room. Not that is service!

It was very centrally located and the staff was great. Despite the fact that I didn't have a bottle opener in the room (my husband had to open the bottles with a butter knife!) the service and accommodations were exceptional! I will recommend this hotel to all my friends.
