    Le Meridien Garden Beach Amenities
This contemporary hotel on the French Riviera is 1.5 km (1 mile) from Antibes, 11 km (7 miles) from Cannes, and 22 km (13 miles) from Nice.

The hotel’s private pier and sandy beach are open all day April through October. Beach access is complimentary for guests, and includes use of a sun lounger and umbrella. Surcharges apply only for use of sun loungers in the front row nearest the sea or on the private pier, or for ordering drinks and snacks.

Guests enjoy discounted access to the health club, featuring an indoor splash pool, spa tub, sauna, steam room, and fitness area. Daily gym and aqua-gym classes are included in the admission fee, but there is a surcharge for massage.

Dining and refreshment options include beachfront La Plage; the sea-view New Orleans Terrace; La Frégate, serving breakfast buffets; and the New Orleans Bar, ideal for people-watching.

A computer in the lobby area provides high-speed Internet access (surcharge).

    Recreation
The hotel’s private pier and sandy beach are open all day April through October, and alternate access from the guestrooms to the beach avoids the lobby. Guests enjoy discounted access to the health club, with indoor splash pool, fitness room, sauna, and steam room. The club is open every morning and mid-afternoon until mid-evening; guests must be 16 or older.

The Bay of Juan-les-Pins is said to be where water skiing was invented, and this and other water sports, including parasailing, jet skiing, and sailing, are available in summer. Year-round sports facilities, including aerobics and tennis, can be found in Antibes, 1.5 km (one mile) east. Pine Park, a half-block from the hotel, includes a playground.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

    Features
What to expect: Visually unlike other hotels in the town, the distinctive glass-clad exterior is an architectural collage of triangles. This modern feel continues in the marble lobby, with its vividly colored table lamps in freeform shapes, and sweeping tile-and-chrome reception desk. Since opening in 1989, the hotel has been a sun-seeker’s haven, and vacationers and executives lap up the beachfront location.

Amenity highlights: The hotel’s private sandy beach, pier, and beach restaurant are open from April through mid-autumn, and beach access from the guestrooms avoids the lobby. Guests have discounted access to the health club, with a 16-foot splash pool, spa tub, sauna, steam room, and fitness equipment. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available throughout the public areas and even on the beach.

Insider tip: Juan-les-Pin’s annual summer jazz festival takes place at the Gould Pine Grove, just one block from the hotel. Less known are the handprints of 53 jazz legends set into the sidewalk surrounding the venue. Jazz fans can pay homage to stars such as Ray Charles and Miles Davis at this Hollywood Boulevard–style tribute.

Please note: The hotel will be closed between 11th and 28th December 2005.

La Plage - Beach restaurant and bar featuring a deck floor built over the sand. Waves lap just a few feet away, and giant awnings shade guests as they relax into wicker-and-steel chairs. Informal Mediterranean fare includes dishes such as Jumbo Prawns Sautéed in Balsamic Vinegar. Open daily April through September for drinks, snacks, and lunch, and also for dinner mid-May through mid-September.

New Orleans Terrace - Triangular tiled terrace overlooking the sea, with potted trees and rows of tables and wicker chairs shaded by large umbrellas. Open for drinks daily year-round. Hot-and-cold buffet breakfast May through September.

La Frégate - Sea views through three walls of windows. Hot-and-cold buffet breakfast year-round. Large, informal room with wicker chairs, ornamental seagulls.

New Orleans Bar - Open daily until late evening, this raised area of the lobby is an ideal place to people-watch while enjoying a drink. Orange-and-burgundy armchairs are clustered on the marble floor. A full range of beverages, including cocktails and Champagnes.

During cooler months when the La Plage is closed, lunch and dinner are available at Le Grill, a restaurant in the casino next door to the hotel. Le Grill is open all year and operated by the same chef as La Plage.

It was delightful to have dinner directly on the Meditrerranean, with a menu that was sitable to our American tastes.

This hotel has the most comfortable, fluffy pillows - which is especially rare in Europe. Hotel staff is very pleasant. Great location in Juan les Pins - nightlife and shops nearby the hotel (open late in summer).
