| The room was large and comfortable. However the hot water was an issue. Water ran cold very quickly. If traveling with a family, not everyone could get a warm shower unless you staggered using the shower. The hotel staff was not warm and friendly, just very matter of fact. They did not go out of their way. The a/c worked very well, which was important during a hot July stay.

| We were 2 adults traveling with 2 children and wanted a suite. This was nicely located just off St. Marks Square and the rooms were fairly spacious. My biggest complaint was the air conditioning (which was necessary in July). The controls in the sitting room (where the children slept) did nothing for the main bedroom, which remained an icebox the whole time.

| As an all-suite hotel, roomy is a given. Some issues with upkeep: phone in bedroom did not work, necessitating someone sleeping on the sofa bed (very comfortable) to hear wake-up call on sitting room phone. Leaking issue in bathtub; location of shower head led to flooding of floor. Confusing finding hotel; all hotels in San Marco square have San Marco in their names. Use address when asking directions, not just hotel name. Breakfast was good - better than usual continental. Would recommend, especially at price level.

| We loved the place. Although expensive (what is not expensive in Venice?), it is right next to San Marco square. The service was excellent and the included breakfast ensured we were not hungry!

| In previous reviews there was talk of hot water issues, that was not an issue here - there was a small hot water heater in the bath. The rooms were nice and clean, but the bed was a bit uncomfy (nothing major at all). The location was nice, close to the square and easy to get to. Did the glass tour, hey low pressure sales at the end, but free taxi to the factory. You get what you pay for, but for free it was great.

| Except poor air conditioning and too small hot water tank, I satisfied to stay in this hotel. Especially this hotel locate close to Piazza San Marco, we can go anywhere easily to walk around and take a water bus. The hotel service is avarage, we did not need special service at the travel but I thought we can get proper services we will need.

| this under-rated hotel is an excellant value in the off-season. large , clean and comfortable rooms with very helpfull staff. very easy to find, but a little confusing at first due to the many other hotels in the san marco hotel group, that are in the same area. we will return at the very first opportunity.

| Hotel is very close to the Pizza San Marco. The suite was very spacious and comfortable. Our room included a mini kitchen area complete with a microwave and 2 burner range if you need one. The breakfast that is included is extensive and better than average. The staff was very helpful and friendly which was appreciated. We would definately stay here again.

| There are plenty of fancy places that cater to the high end clientele and that are very posh and there are quite a few places on the lower end of the spectrum that cater to the back-packers. We found San Marco as a place that would fits nicely right in-between the two extremes and we could not be more pleased with the results! Accomodations were clean and up to date, furniture was new (no antiques) functional and very comfortable. - The bed gave us both sound rest! Breakfast was a pleasure in the handsome wood and marble paneled breakfast room. The staff was super friendly and helpful with every request; When we asked for help with dinner, the front desk was able make a suggestion that turned out to be the best meal on our trip (Hosteria Dal Franz) - they personally called the restaurant manager to ensure we got in and received special treatment (which we did). When it came time to leave, the hotel staff not only arranged for the water taxi pickup, but personally accompanied us to carry my wife's bag (she was pregnent at the time). The hotel is just about ablock off of Piaza San Marco, so you are close to the action, but you don't hear it from your room. We will definately stay here again! P.S. If you decide to stay here, note the very interesting "vault-like" doors securing each room.
