Features
What to expect: The hotel, made up of three Georgian houses, is accessed via the lobby with its high ceilings and chandeliers. Some rooms are located in the Georgian main house, while others are situated in a newer extension, (these tend to be quieter). The lounge contains blue and red sofas with scatter cushions, where businesspeople mingle with tourists. Amenity highlights: Maguires Bar is a lively venue, popular with guests and locals alike, where the drinking of Guinness is taken very seriously indeed. Insider tip: Just a short stroll from the hotel are a collection of some of the best Georgian doors in the city. Head up Pembroke Street just opposite the hotel entrance and notice the fan-shaped glass above each door. Before door numbers were introduced, postmen could determine where to deliver the letters by the unique patterns.
Maguires Restaurant - Situated in the basement, this was once the Georgian kitchen and it still retains the large brick fireplaces. Breakfast is served here, with a carvery at lunchtime. It is closed in the evening. Maguires Bar - This bustling bar has a dark wood interior with green leather chairs and stools. Light meals are serves here, including traditional Irish bacon and cabbage, as well as rib-eye steak.

| We stayed 4 nights at the Georgian this July. Our first room overlooked construction in the back of the hotel and the bar located just below our window. Because it was hot, we left the window open (no a.c.), so we got bar noise at night and hammering in the morning. After we complained they moved us to a room facing the street, which was better. There's no question this hotel is where we wanted to be. Walking distance to Trinity, Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green, and the doorways of the Georgian District. The problem is the the hotel has no elevator, no air conditioning and little else in amenities for a fair chunk of change per night. I would advise others to pick a nice modern hotel in the same general area and skip the Georgian.

| We were very disappointed with the hotel. We were expecting an older hotel, but what we got was an old, dirty hotel. The room we was given had absolutely no view, the carpet was dirty, and the decor was mismatched. The bathroom was even worse with a toilet that hardly flushed and an ancient bathtub and shower that barely worked. The only good thing was its location, walking distance to great pubs and restaurants. My suggestion is look for hotels in this area, but not this one.

| The location was great and we could walk to many sights and restaurants. The hotel itself was disappointing considering what we paid for the room.

| The hotel itself was nice, old but that was expected. Building has lots of character, nice pub attached next door. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, linens fresh each day. We walked throughout Dublin and found the hotel to be convenient. Six blocks to Grafton Street, 9 or 10 to Trinity. Cab ride to Guinness Factory. Only drawback was weak information/service. When asked for information on Dublin, staff was not very knowledgable. Staff appeared to be from somewhere other then Ireland. If you stay here, be sure to visit O'Donoughue's and Doheny & Nesbitt's just down the street. There was a small supermarket just next door, which was convenient for forgotten items, bottled water breakfast, snacks, etc. The supermarket was the cheapest place we found for those kind of items. Very easy to grab a juice and a croissant or pastry on your way out each day.
