| The hotel staff were great.. even upgraded my room when my original one would not reciev wireless internet. The rooms were clean and well kept. My only regret was the locatioin. The area surrounding the hotel seems run down and throughout my stay I would see low profile people driving around the parking lot again and again. It made me feel that my car was unsafe and I checked on it troughout the night.

| After we checked in we had to get ready to go to a wedding. I went to take a bath aned the water was cold. My husband took a cold shower and off to the wedding we went, not refreshed at all. The next morning we told the front dest about the lack of warm water and they said that the day before the boiler had gone out. Why weren't we told when we we checking in so we could of made other plans? It may seem like a small thing but for that reason, I wil not stay at a Howard Johnson's again.

| When I first arrived the front desk person did not know how to process an expedia booking and double charged me.. after waiting 20 mins. The rooms were okay. The high-speed internet was horrible, and that is a key feature I look for when i travel.

| I know that I wasn't going to get a great room but this hotel is pretty bad. It was moderately clean. There was some wires coming out of a couple outlets. There was no iron or hair dryer in the room like it says in the amenities list. The complimentary breakfast is some stale cereal, milk, coffee and a few pastries that have seen better days. The lighting outside wasn't that great so I did not come out of the room at night. The place is located right off the freeway so expect a lot of noise from the traffic. This is more of a motel than a hotel.

| We were travelling through Bakersfield, and found this hotel met our needs. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. The only let down was that the free internet access did not work.
