| We had a great experiece at the Outrigger Royal Kahana. We used it more as a "home base" to explore the rest of Maui. The kitchenette allowed us to make our own breakfast and lunches, which saved us a lot of time and money. It's also very close to Lahaina (town) and we were able to explore a variety of dining options. It is not actually at Ka'anapali beach as listed, but at Kahana just north. We didn't love the beach there but were very pleased with the hotel itself. Staff were friendly and the area peaceful. The Expedia Desk staff were particularly helpful! The hotel met my expectations based on price and description - definitely not luxurious but can't beat the deal if you're on a budget!

| We were here for 5N/6Days and found the hotel to be good. We stayed in Room# 103 which was classified as a "studio garden view", but still had a partial view of the ocean from our patio. The room was clean with and had a lot of amenities. It has a full-fledged kitchen with a cooking range, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender and every kitchen utensil you can think of. Our room also had a washer/dryer. Room service was prompt. The hotel has a nice pool, private beach access (as it is a ocean-front property) and a nice lounge overlooking the ocean.

| From reading the reviews, we were really looking forward to our stay. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was the grossly mildewed (we're talking pink and black) grout and tile covering the entire bathroom, foyer and kitchen of the studio. Luckily, we had so many activities planned that we didn't have to spend too much time at the hotel. I find it really hard to believe that our room was the only one that was so poorly kept, but overall even as a budget hotel, it was a major disappointment and the only thing about Maui we regretted.

| All in all not a bad hotel. There were a couple small issues (broken light switch and the latch on the door broke when I tried to lock it), but the rooms were kept clean and every room has an ocean view. Also, Kahana beach is more secluded and private than Kaanapali or Fleming although it is much nore narrow and is not as nice. This hotel is perfect for the visitor who is planning on traveling around Maui and only eating/sleeping at the Hotel and is only after a minor beach experience. If you plan on spending alot of time at the beach, or are bringing a young family to play on the beach with I would go with a Kaanapali hotel or resort.

| From the beginning the hotel is pretty bland but for the price it is a decent hotel. The check in was a pain i did arrive early however the way the handled it was just bad. I wanted until 3pm however my room was still not ready at 3pm they said they will call me but they never did... Maui is expensive all hotels are semi expensive... but you get what you pay for... The room was clean but overall it was not very comfortable....

| We were more than pleased with this hotel. The staff was wonderful and the room was just right for us. Had breakfast on the balcony watching the ocean every morning. Having an Expedia desk in the lobby was very helpful.

| This hotel is a pleasure to stay in. The bed was extremely comfortable and it is always very quiet and relaxed. The maids did a wonderful job of keeping the place clean. The front desk girls were always very helpful. Definatly pick a room with the ocean view and sleep with the lanai door open so you can hear the waves crashing.

| The service at the hotel was fine for someone who does care to be waited on hand-and-foot. It it a do-it-yourselfer for the most part. Anyone visiting the island should get a rental car so assuming you have, this is a great launching point to explore north and south with Lahaina's popular Front Street only minutes away. Locating the hotel was confusing because we kept looking for Outrigger and it's actually named the the Royal Kahana - it's a tall 12-floor hotel that towers above neighbors. Easiest way to find it is take the marked turn for Kahana near McDonalds and Outback Steakhouse. At the T in the road, turn right and it's the first place on your left. The hotel is right on the ocean and every room boasts a great view of the water from your terrace and the mountainside and red dirt and homes lit by the sunset out the other side. Rooms are spacious, clean and come fully equipped with kitchen and laundry (at least ours on top floor did). There is wireless internet available for 9.95/day or $39.95/week. It works best (signal) from the terrace and did offer high-speed access. The housekeepers were fantastic. Unexpectedly, we returned to our room most days to find not only the room was spotless but our dishes were done for us (no dishwasher). This was a pleasant surprise. All-in-all, the room should be the least important with all there is to do in Maui, but we would definitely recommend Royal Kahana to anyone visiting.
