Riu Playacar All Inclusive Amenities
The majority of amenities, activities, and gratuities at this resort are included in the room rate; guests will not be charged extra for the majority of amenities and activities (scroll up to the All-Inclusive Details section for more information). Just 3 km (2 miles) from the town of Playa del Carmen, this resort offers both beachfront relaxation and a tropical retreat into 1.6 hectares (4 acres) of lush garden. The resort has a Caribbean flavor with buildings painted tropical colors of yellow, pink, and green. Its friendly ambience and slightly smaller scale attracts mostly families. After enjoying the two pools, children’s pool, and spa tub, guests can stroll the 100 meters (330 feet) to Mexican Street, in front of sister resort, Riu Yucatan. Mexican Street houses a fitness center for guests of all four Riu resorts in the area, along with a privately operated spa offering a menu of massage, beauty, and hair treatments and services (surcharges for all spa and beauty treatments and services). The street also hosts jewelry, photo, handcrafted items, and souvenir shops.

Recreation
The majority of recreational activities and facilities described below are included in the room rate for this resort (scroll up to the All-Inclusive details section for more information). Children have their own swimming pool and playground to enjoy. Two large pools, two lighted, hard-surface tennis courts, and gear for various water sports provide plenty of recreational opportunities. For workouts, guests can head to the fitness center on Mexican Street at Riu Yucatan. Playacar Club de Golf is a par 72, 18-hole course in Playa del Carmen, 1 km (less than a mile) away. The Riviera Maya is famous for water activities, horseback riding, biking, and hiking. All off-site sports incur surcharges. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

El Porche - The resort’s main restaurant is located at the center of the complex. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are served, with international and different theme meals nightly.
Turquesa - In the beach area, this open-air restaurant opens for lunch and dinner. Dinner selections are from either a Mediterranean or steakhouse menu.

| Situated on the best beach stretch just South of Playa del Carmen. Very nice calm water with little worries about theft or merchants. Many Europeaans and South Americans vacation here. Can pull a lounge chair right up to the surf! Rooms are spacious with good amount of TV channels. Guests can use facilities at RIU Yucatan and RIU Tequila also! Dinner must be eaten at Playacar, which is no problem since it has a good variety anyhow. After dinner shows were fantastic...top notch...especially Michael Jackson show! Would stay again! Enjoyed pool and beach so much.

| We took our 18 month old son with us for his first vacation and it was wonderful. The staff was great and met every request with speed and courtesy. It is a small resort, so you don't feel like you are at Disney Land and fighting the crouds. The food was good and they offered a lot of variety. We took a walk down the beach and were reassured we had made the right choice for us after seeing the mega-resorts with seas of lounge chairs. We felt very at home and Playacar is gorgeous!
