Sofitel San Francisco Bay Amenities
The hotel lobby is designed with metallic accents reminiscent of the Paris Metro's art nouveau entrances, and of the Eiffel Tower. The lobby houses a cafe and a bar, as well as public areas where wireless Internet access is free. A virtual resort, the hotel also offers an outdoor pool with patio, and an adjacent fitness center; both with views of the lagoon. The fitness center is equipped with treadmills, universal/free weights, a stair machine, and bathroom. Complimentary towels are provided, too. Open 24 hours (staffed 6:30 AM to 11:30 PM), the business center has two computers with high-speed Internet access, a printer, fax machine, and photocopy machine. Also onsite, a gift shop sells French-themed books, food items and sundries, as well as Roger & Gallet toiletries, the same brand found in the guestrooms. Complimentary shuttle service is offered to San Francisco International Airport (11 miles).

What to expect: The Sofitel is set along a lagoon, in front of Oracle's emerald office towers. It's generally populated with business folk, in town for on-site conferences or Silicon Valley meetings. Lined in granite, the sprawling lobby houses an enormous George Seurat reproduction—an impressionist masterpiece recreated as a shag-carpet tapestry. Amenity highlights: A virtual resort, the hotel offers an outdoor pool and adjacent fitness center, both with views of the lagoon (in which local residents are known to swim each morning). There is also a staffed business center, gift shop, two eateries and a lobby bar onsite. Complimentary amenities include garage parking, wireless Internet access in all public areas, and shuttle service to San Francisco International Airport (11 miles). Insider tip: Though the road just off the highway is called Marine World Parkway, and the hotel is on Twin Dolphin, Marine World has long since relocated to Vallejo (56 miles northeast).
Bay 223 - Extension of lobby with Parisian-style architecture. European-style fare includes French onion soup, lobster risotto, and filet mignon. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bay Bar Enclosed in a circular metal frame, similar to that of the Eiffel Tower. Open afternoons and evenings. Market Small cafe with glass display unit. Sandwiches and pastries made onsite. Open from 6 AM to 6 PM.

| We stayed at Hotel Sofitel for 4 nights. It was very nice and was in a good location. My only complaint is that the pool was very cold, perhaps not heated at all. The kids were freezing! You also could only enter the pool area by going through the restaurant/bar. Not a good thing when everyone is dressed up and you are all wet in a bathing suit.

| Sofitel is a great place to stay. I read in other reviews complaints about their location. Sure, it is in the middle of a business district, but Hillsdale Mall is only a few miles away. Besides, there is no need to look for places to eat, the restaurant at Sofitel is simply excellent. Parking is free, friendly staff, view at a lake, calm atmosphere, good restaurant, what else can you ask for?

| What a great spot, hotel close to the airport. Parking (self) was free and easily accessible, which is a great in San Francisco. Very modern and neatly decorated. Enjoyed our short stay.

| I stayed at the Sofitel during a visit to the SF Bay Area. The hotel is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful. Beautiful swimming pool! My room had a lagoon view which was amazing at night. I visit the Bay Area every year and I will definitely stay at the Sofitel!
