In a bad part of town. Constant police patrols and alot of shady charcters all around the hotel. Doesn't make one feel at ease.

This hotel is a typical Clarion hotel. It's a bit worn around the edges, but it's convenient to both downtown Colo Springs and Manitou Springs. Also nice to have a 24 hour Denny's restaurant right across the street. I've stayed here before, and will probably do so again. Staff is helpful and friendly.

I didn't know the area, so I booked a location close to where my meetings were the next morning. I reserved this room under the impression it was a Clarion hotel, which is one of the higher tiers of the Choice Hotels, but was definitely incorrect. Upon check-in, I had to wait for a couple minutes before being assisted by a person coming from the back with a look of surprise that I was there. I know that 9pm is not the typical check in time, but I didn't expect it to be a ghost town in the lobby either. I received a room on the first floor next to an outside entrance in the back of the building--not a very safe choice for a single female traveler, especially when the restaurant staff admitted there was a major issue with the transient population in that area. I got into my room and found a half-drank cup of coffee in a styrofoam cup and the iron was so dirty that it had a residue melting onto my clothes. All night, I kept hearing noises from my outside window such as people talking and tapping the window. The restaurant's staff was pleasant, but the food, especially for the "free" breakfast in the morning was not edible. My choice will not include any Choice Hotels, especially this one.

We begged for toilet paper and towels daily, the room was never vacummed even thought we were there for a week. They advertise internet, BUT, it lasts for seconds at the time which made it extremely frustratinig to run a business from afar. Numerous guests were having problems. Although, when I went to other hotels in the area for conferences, I had no problems at all.

This hotel is very nice. The free breakfast was the best continental breakfast I have had in a hotel. It is also right off the highway so it is easy to get anywhere but there was no noise.

The grounds around the hotel are in very bad shape. The smoking in the lounge spilled over to the resturaunt / bistro, therefore I did not eat in the bistro for dinner or for the free breakfast that was offered. Carpets throughout the hotel are very dirty.

It is not located in a very nice part of town. There was only one restaurant close by (other than the one in the hotel)so didn't have much choice. I had a luggage carrier with equipment on it that was heavy and never did find any ramps to use; had to drag it up steps!I had no washcloths in room. The hotel in general was in disrepair and hallway carpet dirty.
