Features
What to expect: The Royal Plantation only accepts guests 18 and older, as singles, couples, and groups. The hotel replicates the British colonial grandeur that once dominated Jamaica, with 21st century conveniences. The grand ambience begins at a formal fountain garden outside the entrance and continues through an orchid-festooned lobby featuring a green-and-white-checkered marble floor. Varied meals--all served à la carte--and warmly hospitable, non-intrusive service, make for exceptional dining. Amenity highlights: The resort's ocean frontage includes twin beaches separated by a dock and furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas. One beach includes a café/bar, and sunbathers there need only stick a flag in the sand to summon food-and-drink service. Shaded by almond trees, the other beach features water sports. Located on a terrace outside the lobby, a good-size pool, sundeck, and two-level spa spacious enough for 24 soakers provide panoramic Caribbean views. Fronting the spa is a wood sundeck looking down on the beach some 40 feet below. As part of the plan, guests are transported to Jamaica's signature Dunn's River Falls for a tour. Guests who book under the Royal Plan also have full, complimentary access to the facilities and entertainment of Sandals and Beaches properties within the Ocho Rios area (includes meals). The Royal Plantation concierge can make dining, etc. arrangements for guests upon request, and, upon confirmation of plans, guests will be given an access card for the specific Sandals/Beaches hotel of their choosing. Guests will only be responsible for the cost of the private (and short) taxi ride to the hotel of their choice.

| The hotel was clean and nicely furnished, the staff was very attentive and friendly, the beach was quietly secluded, and the peacocks were entertaining. The hotel dining options were a bit overpriced for those on the European Plan, but if you don't mind venturing to local places you can make it work nicely. We are already making plans for next year!

| This resort is very nice in terms of the upkeep of the resort, room cleanliness, privacy and attentiveness of the staff for all of you're needs, they wait on you hand and foot, definitely 5-star service. However, opt for the Royal Plan all-Inclusive, because the food is very overpriced, so you don't really benefit with the European Plan, which is not all-inclusive.

| The resort is beautiful, and the staff is excellent. We enjoyed the smaller feel of the hotel. Live music to dance to every night under the stars. The food, while good, isn't quite up to the quality of the rest of the hotel. Make sure to get out and eat at the jerk stand in town. We opted for the European Plan rather than the all-inclusive. It was a wash in the end.
