Harrah's Lake Tahoe Resort & Casino Amenities
Harrah's offers many resort-style amenities: a fitness center (fee charged), spa, glass-domed pool, nightclub, casino, and five restaurants. In addition to the 12,000-square-foot Family Fun Center, children have access to the Kid's Camp, which features supervised activities such as hiking, swimming, and bowling.

Recreation
Guests can enjoy a fitness center (fee charged) and glass-domed pool. In summer, the hotel operates lake tours aboard William Harrah's legendary 54-foot, 36-passenger yacht, the Tahoe Star.

During the summer, guests enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and boating in the surrounding area. Also, the top-rated Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course is less than a half-mile away. Guests use the Gondola at Heavenly, located 2 blocks from the hotel, year-round. Sleigh rides and ice-skating facilities are within 2 blocks as well. Several area outfitters offer snowmobile tours.

Sunrise Sports Shop, located on the hotel's lobby level, rents, services, and sells seasonal sports equipment. Gear rentals also are available in the area surrounding the hotel.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: This hotel's stone-floored, wood-paneled lobby features glass etchings of Comstock-era scenes, as well as photos of founder Bill Harrah in riding boots or fishing gear, posing with celebrities. Families and leisure travelers enjoy the hotel's resort-style amenities, and business travelers appreciate the hotel's event facilities.

Amenity highlights: Guests have access to a glass-domed indoor pool as well as a fitness center (fee charged) offering a steam room, sauna, and spa tub. The hotel's tranquil spa, Reflections, features a range of skin and body treatments, and there is a hair and nail salon. Adult entertainment options include an 800-seat celebrity showroom, a 24-hour casino, and nightclub that dispenses doses of flavored oxygen from its oxygen bar.

Insider tip: Guests have easy access—through a covered, street-level passageway—to the many amenities of Harveys Lake Tahoe, the hotel's companion property. Located across the street, Harveys features a Hard Rock Café and Improv Comedy Club.

The Summit - Located on the 16th floor, Harrah's fine-dining destination offers superb views. The menu features contemporary American cuisine such as Pepper Crushed Smoked Filet Mignon. The adjacent cigar bar offers a selection of smokes, fine wines, and premium liquors. A pianist plays nightly. Open Wednesday through Sunday nights; reservations recommended.

Friday's Station Steak & Seafood Grill - Named after the Lake Tahoe Pony Express stop, this steak and seafood restaurant serves dinner nightly on the hotel's top floor. Diners are surrounded by wood paneling, hickory furniture, and views from every table.

American River Café - Set amidst faux rock formations, complete with a flowing river and two waterfalls, this casino coffee shop is open 24 hours. In addition to breakfast served round the clock, specialties include chicken pot pie, beef stew, burgers, and sandwiches.

Forest Buffet - Located on Harrah's top floor, the Forest Buffet offers great views and an exhibition-style kitchen. Menu options include brick-oven baked pizza, an Italian pasta bar, an Asian wok station, a French rotisserie, three salad bars, and a dessert station. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

North Beach Deli - This self-serve deli sells large meaty sandwiches on freshly baked home-style bread, along with deli salads, hot dogs, soup, and chili. Open for lunch and dinner daily.

Club Cappuccino - This lobby café serves a variety of espresso drinks and freshly baked pastries.

Ice Creamery - Located in the retail corridor next to the lobby, this ice-cream parlor offers cones, cups, sundaes, and shakes.

Altitude - When not hosting concerts, the South Shore Room morphs into Altitude, a nightclub featuring overstuffed leather sofas, dance music, lighting effects, go-go dancers, and drink specials. There's even an oxygen bar. Open Thursday through Sunday from 10 PM.

Casino Center Stage - This casino-floor lounge features drinks and dancing—to disco, R&B, and soul—Tuesday through Saturday.

California Bar - Video poker games, specialty drinks, and energetic bartenders are highlights at this bar-in-the-round at the casino.

Rendezvous Lounge - This little spot tucked away in a corner of the casino features cocktails and piano entertainment nightly.

Russ McLennan's Sports Bar - Lined with TV screens, this small casino bar offers beer, wine, and cocktails.

This is an old hotel and the rooms show the age. We had two different rooms during our stay and each needed repairs in some form or fashion. We did love the fact that the rooms came with two separate bathrooms; each with its own TV. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Would stay there again.

I did feel it was over priced. Pool and Jacuzzi was nice. Restaurants were excellent. Poor attitude of one person at the Buffet. Game room for the kids was awesome. I would go back if offered a break on the price.

The hotel had about 20 self-parking spaces. Rest had to be valet. That meant anytime you wanted something from your car, you had to have the valet bring it around. Major inconvenience! Room was rated "luxury". Only luxury was it had two bathrooms, which is not high on our list of extras. Room was to have a view of the lake or mountains. It had a view of the parking garage. Large window was covered with sheers and draperies. But the draperies didn't cover the center 9 feet of the window so when the sun came up at 6am it woke us up. Morning coffee only available with room service or patronizing the Starbucks on the main floor. One dollar charge for local calls for reservations etc. Casino floor had limited selection of gambling machines and the restroom was only reachable by taking the elevator down to the floor below. Major Disappointment in all! To their credit, they readily refunded the three unused nights of our four night stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and the 2 bathrooms with a t.v. in each one were great. The service was wonderful. We had a room on the 7th floor the first night and asked for a room higher up and the next 3 nights we were on the 11th floor with a great view. The service in the casino was outstanding the cocktail waitresses were really friendly and the drinks were fast and tasty. Great stay for the money.
