| Beautiful hotel inside and out; horrible parking. Hotel scheduled to closed 2 days after my departure. Could explain why they did nothing about the ants crawling around the room!

| The Century Wilshire is a very attractive, charming boutique hotel. The period furnishings give it a "homey" quality, as did the kitchen tiles and the Ivory soap in the bathroom. My standard room was as large as many studio apartments, including a nice sitting area and dining area. My one complaint - I asked for a quiet room but instead had a room overlooking Wilshire Blvd. Luckily, the air conditioner fan and my ear plugs blocked out the traffic noise. My biggest concern was the flimsy lock on the door to my room. Doors and locks should be upgraded. The center courtyard, with its flowers and balconies, is a lovely respite in the middle of LA. I recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want a "cookie cutter", corporate hotel atmosphere, and feel the hotel should be rated at least 3 stars.

| This best thing about this hotel is the swimming pool which is large and clean and the location. The rest of the hotel is old, run down, and badly in need of a face lift. The rooms on the front of the hotel face Wilshire Blvd and are very noisy. There is limited parking. "Complimentary Continental breakfast" was bread, juice, peanut butter and jelly, and orange sections, if you were lucky. Wireless Internet which appeared to be free in the advertisement was available for a price of $10.00 a day. The lobby has a couple of nice pieces of furniture, lulling you into thinking that the rest of the hotel looks like that. But no, the rooms are filled with old cast off furniture, the comforters were ragged, worn out, and dirty, and the door to the room seemed very insecure and looked like it could be easily broken into. The staff itself was surly at best. They insisted on a $50.00 hold on my credit card for amenities...but for the life of me, I could not figure out what those amenities were.

| It is an old hotel and it shows. It is an excellent price for the location. The only complaint I have is the wireless internet is charged at over $9 per day.

| The hotel is well located if you don't plan on renting a car. We were able to take buses to Beverly Hills and downtown. The public spaces in the hotel were very nice. Unfortunately, our room was small, dark and depressing. I have a feeling that we were given one of their worst rooms. I wouldn't go back to this hotel, even though there were many good restaurants within walking distance and the area was quite upscale, our room was not much for the money.

| Overall a fine stay. The staff are polite and helpful. Complimentary continental breakfast, with egg dishes optional on the patio, is a nice way to start the day. One must ask for a hair dryer or clothes iron at the front desk. Wireless internet available at a charge. I will go back myself and I recommend the hotel to others.

| The room I stayed is next to the main street. It is VERY, VERY noisy all day and all night. There is a small parking lot outside of my window. The headlights of those cars are about 6 feet from the window, quite anoying at night. The room is relatively clean, but smells old... may be the carpet or furniture or everything.
