| great hotel, food is adequate in the buffet style restaurants. excellent in Don Quijote, their sit down restaurant. It is a family oriented hotel so do not expect a lot of partying going on. Big effort to provide family entertainment, needs a little improvement. Overall highly recommend this hotel.

| The hotel Barcelona was beautiful inside and out. The service and attitudes were excellent. The hotel was very helpful with our side trips. We totally enjoyed the snorkeling at Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa Island. The guides were both funny and informative. The day trips even included a wonderful lunch and drink. Swimming with the dolphins was a wonderful experience that we shall treasure forever. The faucet leaks were the only minor problem. You had to have a towel on the counter to soak up the water. The food was good and you could choose from 3 restaurants and the coffee was excellent. The desserts could use some sprucing up. Compared to other hotels, I would definitely go back to the Barcelona. The hotel included everything and we had no worries.

| This hotel prior to booking was extensively reviewed by me and found that the Hotel was a great and very relaxing all inclusive place. We visited in the month of April 2006 for 7 days and not one single cold or gloomy day !! just what I liked ! beach temperature and pool temperature is on the upper 80s -The best part about this Hotel is that they employ almost all local employees to benefit the poor surrounding community. (no foreign workers). Food is great and ambience is very relaxing. All shops walking distance and major city is only 5.00 bucks a cab ride. Knowing some spanish language really helps !!-the beach is the Pacific Ocean and dont expect clarity and it can get somewhat rough-- fortunately, white sands beach are not far from the hotel with a short cab ride and boat ride can ferry you to a calm and clearer warm water ---grreeaaattt ! Very reasonable rates for the banana boat ,parasailing and Seadoo rides. Noticed a lot of hotels along the boulevard and high rise too all so gorgeous. Ixtapa is not a party type place atmosphere I would say it is more kid friendly resort than anything . Zihuatanejo is a must see also since it is so close to the resorts. This is the place to do nothing if so desires that is what a vacation should offer.-I would recommend this to families ..

| The hotel grounds are very nice. This would be a beautiful hotel if they did some repairs. It is very old. The food was awful and the beds were the worst I've slept in. But it is a short walk to shopping and other things of interest and the view from my balcony was spectacular! And I liked that it is not a party area but was very serene and restful and not too crowded.

| Service from the hotel employees was excellent. The rooms need to be updated. Our closet doors were off track, drapes would not open & close easily, etc. we only had two drawers for our clothing (we were staying 8 days!) etc. The food at buffet(dinner) was much to be desired. But the food at the pool was good. All in all we had a great time and are planning to be back.

| My family and I stayed a week at the Barcelo in Ixtapa. We did the all inclusive package and it was worth every penny. The service was great, we never had an empty drink, but the food was ok. The breakfasts and lunches were good, but the dinners were lacking. We did a lot of sightseeing, I would recommend a trip to Ixtapa Island, we did a snorkel tour through the hotel. I was not that impressed with the snorkeling but still a great atmosphere. The weather was great, the beaches were clean and the pools were refreshing. The night life was good also. They have a Senor Frogs and Carlos and Charlies within walking distance from the hotel. My sister and I felt very safe walking to and from the clubs. All in all it was a great and relaxing get away!

| This is a good option to rest and take it easy. All inclusive option will save a lot of money, specially in drinks. Hotel needs some minor maintenance to be done. Air conditioning was somehow noisy at night.

| Upon arrival in Ixtapa, the transportation was waiting and easy to find. Once on our way, it was apparent we were going to have fun. Conversation was exchanged making for a pleasant ride to our hotel. We arrrived and were happy with the room until we found it non-smoking. Notified the Front Desk and had another room on the top floor the next day. Food was plentiful and no matter what your tastes were/are you can fill up. Breakfast on the Veranda, lunch at the Snank Bar, dinner at the show, all the while enjoying the swim-up bar. Staff extremely friendly and helpful( they enjoy you trying to speak)Shopping great, fun in the sun.....Relaxing was the theme and they made it easy. Looking forward to returning in the near future and all our friends are looking into "such a great place." Came back with a tan, more silver, cotton attire, and money left......What more can you want?

| Hotel was very clean, employee's were all very nice and would go above and beyond to help with anything you need. The bartenders at the pool bar were great. Even outside of the hotel we found that everyone in Ixtapa was very courteous and the city was very clean.
