Recreation
With its exclusive entrance into Disney's California Adventure™ park, the resort doesn't really need to offer additional recreation options—but it does. The resort has both a fitness center and a full-service spa, but the focus here is on the extensive outdoor pool area, which includes three themed swimming pools. The Fountain Pool is a quiet lap pool; the Mickey Mouse Pool is a children's pool shaped like the mouse himself; and the Redwood Pool is a large pool complete with a twisting, 100-foot-long redwood slide. There are also two spa tubs and an arcade. The resort is equipped with a hydraulic lift to assist disabled guests into the spa tubs and swimming pool. The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

| Although it was not my first visit, I took my new mentee, a 13 year-0ld and my mother, both of whom hadn't been before, and my mom loved it!! I on the other hand really enjoyed it, I was a bit disillusioned by the Storytellers Cafe --the on grounds restaurant. I felt that ir was completely over priced. There isn't enough room to list what I feel was unacceptable. On the other hand the hotel's location to California Adventure and it's presentation and cleanliness is beyound commendable.

| Absolutely gorgeous hotel. The service had that magical touch. Everyone was extremely friendly, the hotel was beyond clean. I wish I had more time to explore the dining options, but the two I was able to try were wonderful (the snack bar and the buffet). The close proximity to the parks and Downtown Disney make it very convenient to take breaks during the day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a relaxing vacation.

| I stayed at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel on my recent trip to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. When looking for a hotel, my wife and I were looking for the convenience of the parks being so close because of our three year old and one year old boys. That is exactly what we got. If you're traveling with small children like my wife and I were, this is the hotel you want. It was so easy to go upstairs for a power nap and then head back down to the fun. The hotel is very clean and the people at the front desk are very helpful. Both of my two children were celebrating birthdays. It was a pleasant surprise to find balloons and a gift for each of my kids waiting for us in our room. (You must call the hotel in advance and let them know if you're celebrating a birthday and want the balloons waiting in the room.) It was also great that our room had a small fridge. Again, if you're traveling with small children this is definitely a plus because you can store milk and baby food. My kids loved the pool. We would normally go to the pool between 1pm and 3pm. Most of the big kids are out having fun in the theme parks, so the little ones can enjoy the pools (there are two) without having to worry about bigger kids bumping into them. Floating vests are available for the little ones. I would definitely stay here again at least until my kids are a bit older. Then I would try the other two hotels which are also right next to the theme parks.

| Disney Grand is not 4 star. Walls were dirty with actual food and grime.Beds were clean.Staff was not friendly at front desk.Concierge was rude when I approached at 8:55 pm.Didn't know he closed at 9:00. He was sure to say to me "like I already told you".Ordered toast from room service. It came cold with butter on the side. We couldn't spread it.The next day I requested the butter on the $40.00 toast .He finally agreed to so it.Then brought it un buttered. Will not be a return customer. One plus is the location.

| This hotel is Disneyland's newest property and the only place to stay in my book. It is so convenient it is worth the high price. The best things are the pools (with waterslide) and the great hall/lobby. Really cozy and fun. For the price, the rooms are just okay. But you just can't beat walking to Disneyland.

| Disney's Grand Lodge is the most amazing place we have ever stayed. The service in every area of the hotel was beyond my highest expectations. The beautiful atmosphere of the Lodge and landscaping was breathtaking. Our themepark view room was so gorgeous. I really felt as if we were in a luxurious lodge in the mountains; of course overlooking our favorite attraction the exciting "Grizzly Bear Run". Loved the pool area and the convenience of relaxing there in between trips to the parks. The easy access into California Adventure was great. We also really enjoyed the Storybook Land Cafe at the Lodge. Highly recommend this Hotel and worth every penny. Can't wait to go back!

| The hotel is everything it says it is. However I did come up with a few gripes. One is that room service at times was extremely slow to answer. Once when my daughter and I came back from a day at the park it took over 15 minutes for them to answer and another 45 to deliver. Another complaint would have to be the valet service. Picking up your car takes entirely too much effort. There are 20 guys standing around yet it takes 20 minutes for one of them to go across the street and bring your car around. Last and certainly least the refrigerator space allotted to the guest fits about one can of soda (which they gladly charge you $2.75 for) and the vending machines don't offer enough of a snack/refreshment selection. Having the private entrance to California Adventure was superb.
